Personally, the only coupe I would even consider taking over its sedan counterpart is the fifth-generation BMW 3-Series (see below). Its design seems a lot more cohesive. Otherwise, I'd opt for 4 doors every time.
Style... In my opinion the E91 (fifth generation BMW 3 series wagon/touring) is the most stylistic!

Wagons are just not popular here in the US. Probably a lower take rate then manual transmissions. Which makes my 6spd manual E91 a very rare car...

There's a 3-Series wagon in my parking garage just like yours (but in silver), with stick and X-drive. The combination of manual, AWD, and hatch is unbeatable.
