2014 Mazda 3 unveiled

Post by Boston Fit »

Good to hear that both engine options - 2.0L 155hp and 2.5L 184hp - will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The rear end looks like a Lance sportback.

People have been complaining about that on the Mazda forums. The front looks good in the picture, but I have to say I was not impressed with the new Mazda 6 when I saw it in person, and it has a similar design. I like the interior. It looks, dare I say, almost Audi-esque.

I like it....looks very similar to the new 6 from the front. I guess that's the new corporate Mazda look. I'm not a big fan of the current generation 3. I actually really liked the looks of the prior generation. This new generation looks good too though.

I think it looks great. Reminds me a bit of the Infiniti EX35 from the side. I look forward to seeing what the Mazdaspeed version will look like :D.

i personally am not crazy about the design ethos of most of the new and last gen mazdas, but i still like it more than a lot of other designs, and i also dig the interiors. i helped a guest at the hotel with her luggage a couple of weeks ago and couldn't help but admire and compliment her mazda CX7. i later realized she was a rich lady and the car was her rental car. maybe, just maybe, she liked the car as much as her own personal car, after i complimented her on it :) :D :?  8)

Am I the only one that think several of the Infinitis look a bit silly?

No.

This beached whale/pug is especially repugnant.

Interesting stat from this review of the Mazda 3 -

"Mazda says 12% to 15% of 2-liter buyers will choose the manual, and 15% to 20% of 2.5-liter buyers will opt for a stick shift.
Typically, just 3% to 7% of compact buyers ask for a manual on other brands."
