Not dissing Honda, but think of the other vehicles/performance you could get at that price range
Well keep in mind the currency conversion. Right here the civic SI is the cheapest in the performance pocket rocket category...

I was just going based off what the other poster said. 37,000 euros is roughly 50,000 USD.
Spectulating sucks, wish there were some hard facts already lol.

I was looking at honda uk and the regular civic starts a 16,000 british pounds. BTW I wish we had this car as a honda http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/accordtourer/

We also need a hatchback along with the coupe...

http://civictyper.honda.com.au/default.aspx here is the type r ahha

I couldn't find an exact price but I saw something on wikipedia about it costing around 38k in Japanese yen
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Civic_Type_R
In addition to Civic Type R, 300 Honda Civic Mugen RR cars in red only had also been produced for Japanese market, which reduced weight to 1,255 kg (2,770 lb) using CFRP bumpers and aluminum for the bonnet. The engine is rated 240 PS (180 kW; 240 hp) at 8,000 rpm and 218 N·m (161 lb·ft) torque at 7,000 rpm achieved through Mugen parts such as camshafts, exhaust system and ECU. Other exclusive items that make this a collectors item are Recaro SP-X seats and other Mugen items inside while special Mugen wheels equipped as standard. This version cost 4,777,500 yen (4,550,000+tax) ($38,750 USD) and went on sale on Sept 13 2007

I'd love to get an si and mod it to look like that. OR just buy the body and convert it to left hand drive.

A Civic Type-R would be super-rad here in the US, but think about it. It will be super-marked up, making it a bad value. Plus, the minute you get it home, it'll be stolen.

the k20a engine is in extremely high demand for engine swaps to older lighter civics like the ek's and eg's. a conversion package is worth 8k in aus.

on another note, honda have lost the plot. the new type r's are barely what you would classify as a type r.

next thing u know it will only come oput in auto.

I had actually heard from a few people and friends who work at Honda dealerships that they have lost their touch in the performance aspect.
The main focus has been, economy/efficiency. They even stated the 2012 Si was a pretty big let down. Those were thier words not mine. I've never driven a Si
so don't shoot me here lol.

That was in part why S2000 production stopped. And the fact that it was getting old....they stopped revising it so it was getting outdated.

I thought they got stolen because 1. a thief could get like 4 or 5 keys from the same model and one of them will open the door. I am sure that with the modern engine immobilizer systems that thefts are starting to become a thing of the past in regards to that...but there is nothing keeping them from taking the engine out of the car....and the fenders...and the seats.

That is one thing that is making me nervous buying a honda...

The cheapest model I could find (5-door 1.4i Comfort) is a bit over 20,000 euros (US$25k). It's quite funny that just by choosing a bigger engine and a better trim (5-door 1.8i Executive AT Navi Advanced) will increase the price by almost 17,000 euros (37k€ is US$47k). I didn't know you can do that with a Civic.

I'm never getting a new car >_<

The new cars keep going up in price every year. I was looking at a 2012 mazda 3, most basic one you can buy. It was within my budget, then they update their website to the 2013 model year and they raised it 1000 dollars.

I guess the other basic one had no a/c.

Very few do anymore. Toyota doesn't make one of which I am aware.

The civic DX didn't come with a radio. But I think they are doing away with that.

Ew!
That thing looks like it's going to be riced out from the factory floor haha.

If they do go the route of a 2.0T, and they stated it would have very similar HP but more TQ, I would see this along the lines of the JCW MINI Cooper.....208HP/210ish TQ.
Probably utilize a small twin scroll turbo to practically eliminate turbo lag.
