Shit dude, that sucks, but glad he wasn't seriously injured. Did he have insurance on the rental?

Very true. No excuse for rental cars in Canada not to have snow tires...

Geez, I can't believe people do that kind of shit so often (the truck who hit him).
It seems every other accident I hear about the person at fault leaves and never owns up to it, doesn't even stop to make sure the other vehicle's occupants are OK, etc etc.
It pisses me off to hear this kind of thing.

Some guy sideswiped me last summer. I chased him honking and flashing my lights at him for about a mile before he pulled over. I was pulling out my phone to call the cops as he pulled over though, lol. Damn that woulda been nice.

Unfortunately the only place in Canada to get rental cars with winter tires is in Quebec, where all vehicles by law must have winter tires between November and March. Go anywhere else and they'll tell you the same story, "All season tires are good enough", "We have 4WD Ford Explorers available", etc.

Snow tires don't help much when you're rear ended. Sucks dude, hope he doesn't have any longterm injuries as a result.
