How is this "oops?" And why in the world would you pay 60% tax on something, unless you won the lottery/something similar...Tups wrote:Oops, I might end up paying 60 % of tax from my first salary

Re: Recommend a movie!
1) Down Periscope is fantastic. 2) My wife (g/f at the time) wanted to see 17 Again in the dollar theater so we went, and I was surprisingly entertained. Obviously some parts were a bit goofy, but there were some parts where I was actually enjoying the movie. And fine, I'll put a real movie on here....

Re: TCL: Why do you drive an automatic?
My Civic is a bit slow to react on the hills. It will lose speed and might shift, though normally if there's a hill, I push it slightly harder to make it shift, then it does well. Like driving a paddle shifting manual, with my foot controlling the gears. Only having 4 gears can be annoying... Anyone...

Re: transmission issue
To my limited manual driving knowledge, it feels completely normal in the other gears. They've never popped out, they don't wiggle much, fairly easy to get into and out of gear (occasionally first requires a slight wiggle, but that's pretty normal from what I've seen, esp in a car with 172k+ miles)....

Re: TCL: Why do you drive an automatic?
It's personal preference really. I'd rather be more involved in driving and have more fun with it. But, if I was driving a large truck or SUV, I'd prefer it to be an automatic. For any small or medium sized car though, I think it gets you more involved with the drive. I did kind of like the suggesti...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
That is a remarkable list, which I might say is made slightly more scary by the fact that you actually remember/wrote all of those problems down   EDIT: So I don't double post. I remember my Mazda having high idle problems, including engine code about it, and we replaced the PCV valve an...

Re: transmission issue
Update: I went exploring and can't get to the linkages without being able to get under the car because the way the bolts attach to the plate below shifter (I don't have ramps yet, working on that :/). Rope, were you wanting me to test putting it into 5th with the car off, or on? I tried it with the ...

Re: transmission issue
Interesting that it even goes into gear at all, given that it pops out within 5 seconds and can't be held in gear by hand. She has said she stopped trying for the past month of so, so don't know recently. Before it got as bad as it is now, was there any unusual shift knob vibration when you shifted...
