Re: I feel like I am not becoming consistent as time goes by

i've been driving stick for 9 years, but i remember having a lot of trouble adjusting to the clutch and throttle in each of my manual cars but especially my 1st two (94 civic and 98 maxima). some of this will be trivia, but i want to share it with you in case it helps certain things click in you an...

Re: RPMs when driving

Due to my FC's loud exhaust and my non-asshole nature, I regularly drove through neighborhoods at night at 600 rpm in 5th gear. Due to the ridiculously short gearing, that only got me like 20 mph. i can relate. except i dont have the torque at 600rpm to drive at 5th gear unless it was perffectly fl...

Re: Rev-match accuracy inconsistent?

Hmmm, I haven't tried different foot positions, I will have to give that a try later today. And know it doesn't have to be accurate is good to know...otherwise I would have frustrated myself haha. Oh yes, I am most certainly getting a dyno tune. My warranty is up at 36K miles or 3 years. I already ...

Re: Review: 1998 Honda Prelude base

65mph at 5th gear at 3000 rpm and your complaining lol.

at 65 mph in 6th gear for me is 3500 rpm. you must be really used to relaxed gear ratios.

otherwise preludes are nice for its ages definitely.

Re: New to driving manual and some questions

The no-gas launch gets used all the time in rush hour traffic, too. If you're unfortunate enough to live in an area with bad rush hour... Yeah, that's true for me too. Once in a blue moon I'll do a no-gas launch if I'm in heavy traffic (stop 'n go) and the car in front of me only moves up a few car...

Re: New to driving manual and some questions

the friction point is a very mythical thing in the space time continuum. do not be fooled by its existence for me a friction point is the point during the clutch pedal travel where the flywheel and clutch begin to exert ANY kind of friction, even if you cant hear/see the rpm dip or feel the car hunc...

Re: Yanking the car into neutral with no clutch? How bad is

that being said, i assume double clutching isnt necessary.

put car in neutral
blip throttle
clutch in to engage new gear.

im not willing to try this

Re: 5-to-2 mis-shift, weird

tbh, going at that speed, i would have to rip the stick into 2nd gate, or at least double clutch with an enormous blip, otherwise 2nd would feel like a brick wall.

only other conclusion is my 2nd gear synchros are shot. i doubt it.
