Re: Do i have to rev match when down shifting gears?
This has been a very helpful thread for one still pondering the mysteries of rev matching (ETA: by which I mean, MOI). And welcome, Nermin!

Divorces are made in heaven, marriages are made in hell. But don't let me influence you.

Re: Mini Cooper vs Honda Fit
I'm guessing there is an adjustment, since this is an elctronic switch There does seem to be an adjustment. Comment from the FitFreak forum: You can get an electronic throttle controller to eliminate throttle lag and rev hang.. If you had gotten a 1st generation Fit you could have fixed it with a K...

Re: Puregas
Some argue that growing so much corn for ethanol means less food available. Then there's the whole corn subsidy thing...so who is really paying for what, and who benefits? :( Corn is the top crop for subsidy payments. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 mandates that billions of gallons of ethanol be blen...

Re: Puregas
Today I went for a drive in the country, and ended up filling up with E10. On the pump was a sticker that said "Enriched With Ethanol". "Enriched"? Hah! Way to spin it...and in fact a lie, unless there is something I don't know (admittedly always a possibility ) .

Re: Audi A3 S-Line Titanium pkg + my previous car
Both are beautiful, kayubassist! :D The GTI is one of the original "hot hatches": The car which popularised the concept of the hot hatch is the 1976 Volkswagen Golf GTI, announced at the 1975 Frankfurt Motor Show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_hatch My 27-YO son has a black 2003 GTI MT ...

Re: Mini Cooper vs Honda Fit
Thanks, one thing about the Fit is that it does have a super-quick throttle response. I wonder if that's a Honda thing or what. That is an interesting comment...I am not a knowledgable enough driver to be able to intelligently have an opinion, but will certainly store that crumb of info away! 8) Ho...

Puregas
From what I have read, it seems like a good idea to use gas without ethanol added, if available. I am fortunate enough to have a station selling such gas right in my neighborhood, for little more than prices elsewhere. I located it at this website, which maintains a database of ethanol-free gas stat...

Re: New from Jersey
The Mustang was the iconic hot car of the 1960's. My boomer cousin who lives in Atlanta has 3 of them--all standard shift of course! His daily driver, his Shelby garage queen, and an old model he is restoring. I sure wouldn't want his insurance bill!
