Re: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - Manual vs. Automatic

I would agree with this. Add a 6th that is just a highway cruising gear so I'm not at 3000+ RPM at 70mph. 70 MPH is apparently right close to 110 according to Dr. Google. I'm just a hair over 2500 @110, still a little high for ongoing cruising my opinion. If I'm going 60 I'm at 2000 in 4th or about...

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stori

There also seems to be a good number of them 2011 and newer having problems with the rear hatch leaking

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stori

It's an 09 that had 115,000km (whatever that is in miles) when I bought it so I dare say that bridge has been crossed. I'm on a Jeep forum as well and some people have had those types of problems but certainly nowhere near a majority.

Re: Anxious to rev-match because fear of letting off the bra

I don't mean far apart width wise that's not an issue at all...I mean the brake is much further from the floor than the gas.

Re: Anxious to rev-match because fear of letting off the bra

I usually rev match into third or second if it's a really slow turn into a parking lot brake like normal take my turn and go. I've been able to heel toe on other vehicles in the past but I've found on the one I'm driving right now that my brake pedal sits so much further out than the gas it's nearly...

Re: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - Manual vs. Automatic

As short as I shift I could stand to have a 6th, even if it were just added on top with 1-5 left just the way they are.

Oh I've seen that. I've lurked for quite a while and wanted to register but the powers that be had that disabled. I just got an email today that they opened it again.

I just liked the theme of this one

Re: Reverse Sticky

Like I said I've never really thought about so much as just do what works BUT if you're gonna make me conscious of it.... Say I'm backing in my driveway I am prone to knock it out of gear a few seconds before I swing toward the neighbour's house and stop. Clutch is out once in neutral slides right i...

Re: Reverse Sticky

Mine slips in like a greased pig. I never really took note or thought about what I do but I don't hit a forward gear first

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stori

Only VW I drove belonged to an old friend with benefits I had years ago. Late 90s early 00s Jetta dont even remember what year now...and it always threw me off trying to back it up because you had to first push the stick in then reverse was all the way up and to the left Anyhow let's get this thread...

Re: 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - Manual vs. Automatic

Seven? I haven't even tried a six yet.... Welcome, I see you're fairly new here. If you can drive a 5 speed, you can drive a 6 and a 7. The only thing I'd wonder about with a 7 would be the larger gap between the extremes of the shifter. Would you still be able to apply light pressure up to 5...

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stori

Nice first post monkeyhunk! Welcome to the site! :) So you drive a 09 Patroit? How do you like it? Overall I'd say it's one of the better ones I've had. My only complaint was at first the shifter felt obscenely long but I got used to it quicker than I thought I would. The clutch is light but not to...

Re: Bump Starting (push start)

I'm not saying it will or won't hurt anything because I don't know the answer. What I will say is something seems inherently wrong with bump starting at that speed vs doing it out of necessity. I'll sure bet it's a lot smoother going that fast though

Re: Another Day, Another Idiot Driver (Misc Thread for Stori

Last night zero to whiteout conditions inside an hour. I mean to the point several of us were stopping every couple of minutes when the wind really picks up. It's so white I'm going 30 or 40 k and my wife can't tell it apart from a dead stop. This guy simply MUST ride my bumper for what is normally ...
