Changed the oil in my STI last night in a friend's garage (I don't have tools or space :( ). Lots of people on NASIOC seem to love Shell Rotella T6 (synth 5w40), so I figured I'd give that a shot. I might go to Motul 300v next time, but that's more expensive and not as readily available as Rotella T6.

It looks to me like the right gear shifter controls the "sub gears" (for lack of a better term) of the left gear shifter. Every time he shifted the left one, he started the right one back at the beginning. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like.

Welcome and nice Subie! Buying that car before you knew how to drive a manual was a ballsy move! No worries, though; the more you get used to driving a manual, the more you'll be happy you bought one. Anyway, feel free to ask any questions you have.

Apparently the tire pressure Subaru recommends seems low to a lot of people. My STI recommends something like 36f/30r, but I hear that most people run the tires at around 38/36.
