Re: VWs Built from Left-over SAAB parts?
If their number are not DAS BS, then everyone should go out and buy VW's for their 16 year old kids because they are the safest vehicles on this planet or any other. Buy a diesel VW pre recall while it still has the performance package.

Re: XTERRA, XTERRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!.....
Sad day when a vehicle with a 6 Cyl, 4WD and MT (or any vehicle with an MT) is discontinued.

Re: Manaual Trans Fluid Change
Have never actually driven and Xterra, so that probably is true. The Element with the MT is slightly faster in the 0-60 than the automatic version. just wanted to make sure you know that the xterra is totally different from the element or cr-v or similar. i'd be willing to bet your element is quicke...

Re: Manaual Trans Fluid Change
Alot of the younger folks with the Elements have done a few stereo and other mods. The 6 speakers from the factory on my EX is sufficiently loud for me. Seems to be a lot doing the Plasti Dip on the wheels too. Don't know if they ever went through with it, but a couple of guys on the Element forum w...

Manaual Trans Fluid Change
I know I should have done it myself, but got the oil and manual trans fluid changed on the Element. It has 95,000 miles on and have only done it one other time, so probably was due. Saved $60 on the fluid change vs the Auto. Guy first quoted me AT prices and couldn't believe that it actually had a 3...

Nice vehicle. Honda is one of the few to still offer a 3rd pedal in a mid-size sedan.

Re: Manual cars face extinction as congestion triggers a clutch backlash
Bummer if you live in Australia and want a stick. They should quit offering the Automatic license so everyone would have to drive a manual. Seems to be a trend everywhere. Most today are more concerned with number of USB ports than the 3rd pedal.

Use For The Normally Usless Auto/Stick
Finally found a use for the normally useless Auto/Stick feature on my old automatic Sonata. It has the now antiquated 4 speed automatic, mated with the 2.7 liter 6 cyl. engine. It is annoying when you want to speed up just a little and the auto trans kicks it down to a lower gear. Now when I want to...

Re: Bawked's Honda army
Thats the one K24A8 Thanks. You really can't go wrong with a Honda. My 2007 Element is the most maintenance free vehicle I have ever owned. Just put gas and oil in it and go. The Element has one of the K-Series engines in it. If I am not mistaken it is the same one they use in the 4cyl Accord. K24 F...

Or how about a Vega camper http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/uu254/ZermattGt/VegaCamper.jpg http://image.automobilemag.com/f/99717728+w660+h440+q80+cr1+ar0/jeep-grand-cherokee-overlander-concept-rear-three-quarter.jpg I'm sure there are some bridges this wouldn't fit under. Somebody needs a Pontiac...

Guy gets upset when GF can't drive stick
Guess this guy was not sympathetic when his girlfriend could not drive a stick.

Whats Old Is Cool
Was getting the oil changed today. The young tech (probably 16 or 17 years old) told me that my Element was the coolest SUV he had ever seen. This is a bone stock Element with no mods.. He said he had never seen an SUV with a stick shift and thought it was very cool. He probably would have gone into...

Re: Bicycle Shifting
The Fuji has the stem shifters. Never really liked the downtube shifters. Someone mentioned bikes direct. I see them advertise alot and their prices seem reasonable. Seems like a less expensive way to buy a bike if their after the sale support is good. I use Map My Ride because it was the only one I...

Bicycle Shifting
Not against progress, but have been riding the same Fuji 10 speed since 1977. It was a left over 1976 model that I got for a good price at the time. Wasn't 1977 also the year that Inline Paul started driving a stick shift, and less importantly Jimmy Carter was President. Was at the bike shop getting...
