RWD handles better on dry pavement, all else being equal. Those who don't grasp the connection between their right foot and loss of traction hate RWD in the slick. When you use too much gas, you lose traction on the drive wheels. If you're turning or on a crowned road, a RWD vehicle will often try t...

Shame you can't wait. The 05 Focus and Mustang are much better-looking than their present iterations.

First off, the list appears to be based on 03 model year vehicles, and the HX for 03 was rated 32/38. Which, yes, probably should have put it on the list. To add insult to injury, the Mini's numbers are wrong. Highway rating was 37. Most likely, that was an oversight. They already had a Civic on the...

How sorry...Their Bronco II picture is not a Bronco II. The Bronco II was Ranger-based. That's an F-150-based Bronco. Sure, shortening the Ranger's wheelbase while raising its CG wasn't a recipe for a stable vehicle, but seems a bit harsh to call it one of the worst cars of all time on that account....

"With rear-wheel drive, you need to just stay home," she said.

Pshaw. With rear-wheel drive, you need to have a few of the basic skills I'd really rather anyone on the road with me have.

Cars for Kids

http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=6730&sid=277&n=158 "If heavy metal is not their thing, your kid can go to the old fallbacks, Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. Four-cylinder models of course, four to six years old. I think a manual transmission is a good idea in those cars....

I don't see how they get "Top ten favorite cars of young buyers," from the cars with the highest percentages of 18-24 year old buyers. That just says to me that no one else wants these cars. :)

A maximum-effort start will be tough on the driveline no matter what you do. The technique that's generally used depends on the car. For vehicles without a lot of power or traction, generally it's just a standard start with a lot more gas, which isn't all that good for the clutch. For vehicles that ...

I knew I saw it somewhere...According to the few sources that still have info, you're right...The Z28 did have the manual as a no-cost option (though the Hurst shifter for the six-speed was extra-cost). But according to both KBB and Edmunds, the base non-Z06 'Vette lists a $915 retail, $786.90 invoi...

I could be mistaken, but I believe GM did the same thing with the V8-equipped F-bodies (Camaro/Firebird) and the six-speed prior to their cancellation.
