6 spd tansmission

do any cars other than exoticsand such have 6speed transmissions? Are they any better or have more advantages than a 5 spd? I'm just curious to see.

I do like the 240sx, but they are a little bit more money than the other cars, but I really like them.

it was a pretty old car, and it didn't have a locking mechanism on the gas tank, so you could just flip it open. It is risky, but if you never told anyone about it, it could come in really handy one day.

Re: Redline Shifting

Welcome to Standardshift.com and congrats on your decision to get a manual. Will you be learning to drive in the manual, or you already have a permit? If you're just starting to drive, I'd suggest you first learn not to cross your hands on the wheel and not to look at the stick. If in doubt about a...

I don't know if this is right, it's a bit late and I've been working all day, but I beleive that would put your car running at about 225 mph. either you have a damn fast and well modded car, or your just plain nuts to run it that fast. $1.5million cars go that fast, I find it hard to beleive, but I ...

First car

I will be getting a car for my birthday/christmas combined present this year, and I was wondering what kind of car you guys recommend. I need it to be cheap, definitely no more than 5k, preferreably as low as possible, I wan't it to be a 5spd manual, duh, decent looking, reliable, doesn't have to be...

beware, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The other day on ebay I discovered a scam, a guy was selling a '02 mini cooper s, 5 spd manual for 2,400 bucks, and I almost bought it without even asking my parents it was such a good deal, then I though wait, it doesn't feel right. I sent t...

I'm no pro, never even driven one, but I would guess you just start from 1st, or 2nd if you'd like. Lets see what the pros say and see how far off I am, or if I may be catching on. but dont trust what I say, I jsut want to see if I am beginning to understand this.

I was really excited about learning to drift when I get my car in a few months, then I realized, how the hell can I pay for several sets of tires a day most of the time, I can't so I guess I will have to wait till it ices or snows, or just rains, and go slide around in the lots and pretend I can dri...

Unlock Swith inside of gas cap cover

My friends dad used to have alimo, he has since gotten a new one, but you could just flip open the cover allowing access to the gas tank, and on the inside of the upper part, out of sight, was a red button. You could push the button and the driver door would unlock. Pretty neat, could you get one of...

removing speed limiter? How?

Is it possible to remove the speed limiter on a car, even if it's electronic, or maybe they are all electronic. Also, is it illegal? My mom has a jag, and it is electronically limited at 128, and I want to figure out how to take that off, not that she will let me, just would be cool to know how.

Redline Shifting

I just joined, and I don't have a car yet, will get one in about 5 months for my 16 birthday, and I have was wondering what the typical redline for most entry level cars is, and is it safe to shift at them? I have a friend who is a senior, and he has a VW corrado, and it is extremely fast for a prac...
