Re: BKs New Car

I've honestly thought about just going way old school and getting an old Mustang or something from the 80s-early 00s. Or perhaps a Challenger from like late 2000s. I'd be curious how they were. I'm glad this VW was cheap enough. I'm sure I'll take a bath on it but it's just unbearable. The rev hang...

Re: BKs New Car

I would guess it's related to leading with the fuel and following with the throttle plate in order to keep the engine from going momentarily rich as the power demand lessens, and it could be tuned more appealingly but the CAD jockeys don't appreciate the importance. The newest Mustang I've driven i...

Re: BKs New Car

So, I was driving it in a somewhat spirited manner (revving to 3k instead of 2.2k) and holy crap the rev hang. By the time I would shift into the next gear and look down the revs would only be a few hundred lower than where it started. In some instances, it was higher... Please tell me all new cars ...

Re: BKs New Car

How about a long in the tooth Datsun 370Z? Nobody would be able to tell that it was used. They've stayed visually unchanged for the better part of a decade. Funny, my coworker mentioned it. I'm curious how their throttle response is etc. I've also thought of a mustang ecoboost/v6. I don't have enou...

Re: BKs New Car

Yes, looks just like that. But it's black. Its handsome thing but just devoid of any feel. It felt nice on the test drive..the radio is also balls in it. I need to get it updated. I feel your pain. If it's the same manual as was in the 2011 2.5 Jetta I GET IT . Two overdrives effectively hide any po...

Re: NSFW: *Post up your pics of your Cars & Girls*

I'm curious, what does everyone think of women that are into cars? Is it a dream of yours to have an SO to chat and bond over vehicles?

Reason I ask is cause I know a guy who isn't into it at all.

Re: Vehicles that you wouldn't think could have a standard shift

I'm shocked crossovers like the CRV, Mazda CX-5, Ford Escape etc. all had the manuel option.

Here was a huge shocker for me. a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport..

Re: How have you brought home a recently purchased used car?

I think CT is approximately the same as RI: Insure it (online with major companies you can do it immediately, or just ride dirty I guess; or maybe your policy automatically covers a car you just bought but haven't registered yet, read the fine print), slap the plates from your car on it, carry the ...

Re: How have you brought home a recently purchased used car?

I mean just a regular car that runs and drives but isn't registered.

As far as I know, you're required to have the car registered and insured just to have it on the road. I think technically, you're not even allowed to have any of the 4 wheels touching the road if it isn't registered.

How have you brought home a recently purchased used car?

I'd like to start doing more private party sales. However, one thing that I don't have is a means of getting it home. I don't have access to a trailer, repair plate or dealer plate.

Does anyone have any stories/recommendations on things they've done?
