Re: Sad but true
However, I don't honestly believe that coffee can cause third degree burns, which are the earliest degree of burns to require skin grafting. Water boils at 212 degrees, and even heavily salt laden water boils well below 300 degrees. The coldest fire I can think of would be paper, which burns at 451...

Re: Is my clutch slipping or am I paranoid?
First gear winds up extremely quickly.... I would say you just need to get used to it. A 2008 with a slipping clutch would be ridiculous (you would literally have to hold the clutch at the friction point and floor it for a while in order to burn down a clutch that fast)

Re: Y hello, bright-orange LOTUS
Oddly enough, I saw one of these yesterday too. I never in my life thought I would see one around here... NB isn't a place you would expect to see a Lotus - Yet there it was, stopped at a light while I was walking to my car yesterday

Re: Sad but true
That is the most intelligent thing I've heard all day, unfortunately this is the world we live in. The only thing you can do, is lead by example, and take responsibility for yourself and your actions. Maybe someday people will realize how ridiculous our society has become.

Re: Traction and bicycles
If you want maximum braking you use both. I 100% agree, but it's important to realize that the vast majority of your braking power comes from the front brakes (unless you're riding backwards  ). If you're putting more force on your back brakes, you aren't stopping nearly as quickly as you coul...

Re: Ahh, the joys of traffic court
Must be nice to be able to head to traffic school and clean your record... we don't have that option here. If you go to traffic court you can usually get some kind of leniency on the ticket, but once you get a ticket, it's there for 7 years. Driver training will lower your insurance, but it won't cl...

Re: Traction and bicycles
There's only a relatively small amount of weight over the front wheel so you get less traction with it; unless you're braking with forward momentum. In that case the weight balance slides forward to the front wheel and gives it better traction. I guess you lose some rear traction but it doesn't get...

Re: Traction and bicycles
When you brake, your weight shifts in the direction you are braking, which gives you more traction on the wheel it shifts toward. When you're going forward and you use your front brake, you get the most braking power (approx 70%). As you brake, your weight shifts forward and pushes down on the front...

Didn't want to start with something this big, but I got a good deal on it What's so great about the R6? Seems like everyone but me is into bikez. The thing that's great about them is...

Re: Nothfx's R6 and Cobalt
when are you getting an exhaust for the R6. stock muffler is pretty much as big as the rest of the bike, its just out there, making that side of the bike look weird The exhaust isn't stock - "Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing" .... like TRD Also, The slobalt has served me well! I'd recomme...

Nothfx's R6 and Cobalt
I hadn't yet posted up any pics, so I figured this was the time! This link should be public for everyone (tested it when I was completely logged out). If anyone has trouble just let me know and I'll see about getting them uploaded somewhere else. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=33366&l=26f...
