Re: Everything you NEVER Wanted to Know About Stop/Start
Here you go.... The Jeep is a 2017 and the Audi is a 2016. My prior A5 was a 2011, which is basically the same thing, but the new one has the "facelift" front end.

Re: Everything you NEVER Wanted to Know About Stop/Start
So I purchased a 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to replace my old 4Runner and it has a start/stop system. I honestly don't like it at all, but I don't always turn it off either. What really bugs me is when I'm pulling into my garage to park. The moment that I come to a stop, the engine instantly shut...

Smart car has a manual? Are they putting real manuals in them now or are they talking about that automated manual BS?

Re: Post your speed in top gear at 3000 RPM
Also pretty ugly as well. I can't stand the looks of the Tacoma/4Runner. Doesn't the new A5 have an updated engine as well? I should also comment on the OP. My Speedo is ~5mph off (pos). So at 3k RPM the engine is hovering near 65 mph or so real mph (70 indicated). Yeah, I don't like the styling on...

Re: Post your speed in top gear at 3000 RPM
Thought this might be an interesting topic. Next time you're doing some highway driving, bring your car up to 3000 RPM in its top gear and post the indicated speed that you're driving. I'll start: Audi A5: 6th gear @ 3000 RPM = 91 MPH Okay, so to update this thread, my old 2011 A5 did 91 MPH @ 3000...

Re: Post your speed in top gear at 3000 RPM
Hmm.....interesting perspective. The only forums I deal with on a regular basis are the Jeep and Audi forums and they are both ridiculously active to the point that it can be difficult to keep up. I wonder if people in general are just moving away from manual transmissions. That's what the sales num...

Re: Post your speed in top gear at 3000 RPM
Well, it seems they have sorted out the transmission problems at this point and that was my only serious gripe, so I decided to get a second one. Besides, Toyota is still selling the same ancient 4Runner from the 2010 model year, complete with that ancient 5 speed automatic. If they had a new one ou...

Re: Post your speed in top gear at 3000 RPM
Hey guys, it's been a while, but I'll have to update my info in this thread since I got a new A5 and they changed the gearing a bit since my old 2011 A5. I also got a new Trailhawk Grand Cherokee. As you can see, I went with white on both vehicles this time. Lovin' both vehicles, even the 8-speed sl...

Re: Do you have a car that you can shift while resting your arm on your armrest?
Yes, can do that in my Audi. But the car that really stands out on my mind is my old Eagle Talon. The whole center console was on the same level as the armrest.

Welcome Back!! I noticed you weren't posting but it doesn't seem like it's been a year already (i mean that in the best way possible). At least you didn't tell us all off like another prominent member did before leaving a few years back (anyone remember that??). 8) So you moved to South Joysey?? :)...

Re: What happened to this place?
So I drove an M4 the other day. I was surprised when I downshifted and the car rev matched for me. I don't remember reading about that feature on the M4. Apparently, the new M2 will also have it.

Re: What happened to this place?
Welcome back, Shadow. I've been wondering where you'd gone to. I think clutchdisc and inlinepaul ran away, haven't seen Corolla around, but many are still around answering questions and stuff. In the interim I went from feeling like an interloper being as I had the automatic Escape to be one of the...
