Re: Mazda bringing super-clean diesel to US in 2014?
The super question...will anybody buy them? I read so many posts by people whinging about how they can't have diesels for whatever reason, but when it comes to where to bear shifts in the woods they don't buy. Either that, or they whinge and only buy used cars. You can't really make your choice kno...

I'm test driving a diesel Mazda 6 this weekend. I'll give you my thoughts.
I think it's been confirmed that you can get the diesel with stick or auto.

Re: Stick-only Ford model
Grilles on many cars are oversized for worst case scenarios. That's why hypermilers partially block their grilles to decrease wind drag and increase engine temperatures. Just ensure you monitor the coolant temp, and remove the grille blocks during summer months or when towing. I noticed on really co...

Re: How many gears is too many? Random Ramblings.
Your 215/55R16 tires revolve 797 times per mile. Fifth gear ratio is 0.81 and final drive is 3.81. (FGR) * (FDR) * (TRPM) = (ERPM) At 60 MPH, you're going a mile a minute(1) so 797 tire revolutions per minute, so 0.81 * 3.81 * 797 = 2,456RPM You can find speed @ 3,000 RPM by first finding TRPM. TRPM...

Re: How many gears is too many? Random Ramblings.
I'd love to own an old car with a column shifter one day, looks like a hoot to drive.
I like my six speed manual though. Sometimes I'll skip a gear or two but I'm in sixth gear by the time I hit 40 mph.

Re: Absolutely nothing Rondo with Kia's new idea.
My Mazda 5 was like this. These cars are 4+2 or 5+2 seaters. Those rear seats are good for 5-10 year olds or when the relatives are over for a week. I sat in the back a few times, only my butt touched the seat and it was numb an hour in. Don't expect to fit anything more than 6 bags of groceries beh...

Search in Craigslist "<Make, Model, Fuel type, and/or Body Style> <'Manual' or 'Speed' or 'Standard'>" Or spd or stick or std or manuel or standird or whatever other fails... I'm the only perfectionist here who does not accept missing a single listing, aren't I... I've had some success lo...

Absolutely nothing Rondo with Kia's new idea.
Although the Rondo was discontinued in the US after the 2011 model year, sales were still brisk up in Canada with sales outpacing the all new Chevrolet Orlando and redesigned Mazda 5 despite being in its 7th model year. The all new 2014 Rondo will hit Canadian showrooms later this year powered by a ...

Mazda 3, 260 mph.
I mean km/h. 160 mph. Must be a cost savings thing, might as well give the base to Speed model Mazda 3s the same speedometer.

Most of the major used car dealers around here have transmission filters. Some of the new car dealers have these too.

Mazda used to use other transmissions shared with Ford but the Skyactiv manual and automatic transmissions are Mazda's babies.

We complain that not enough high end cars come with a stick shift but then we slag the one guy here who owns a high end car with a stick shift. Classy.
