Re: The beast has come...

The beast got a present a couple weeks ago. Had it upgraded from the stock 2.73 rear end to a 3.73. What a difference. Much quicker, much better for everyday driving, much better for creeping through parking lots. It's like the 2.73 was just wrong, like having a 3-speed with two overdrives. The 3.73...

Re: If ..........., You Just Might Be Drivin' an Electric

If, starting in 2035, the state you reside in bans the sale of the kind of vehicle you drive,....... WYOMING WANTS TO BAN EVs - From Autoline Daily But maybe this will slow down lithium demand a bit. While many countries, states and cities want to ban the sales of new ICE vehicles, Wyoming wants to...

Re: Winter....potholes....and automatics. Ugh!

The only clutch failures I have experienced have been with the hydraulics. In my experience, they haven't been total failures. Using the clutch normally still produced enough disengagement to help. Rev matching had to be much better than was normally necessary, but still not nearly as exact as is r...

Re: Winter....potholes....and automatics. Ugh!

All my floor-shifted Ford trucks (84 F150, 95 F150, 01 Ranger) would have the shift knob eventually fly off on a hard 1-2 shift. My 01 Chebby S10 never did that. I probably learned on that New Process in a wrecker truck in the 1970s. I would crank it over in 1st gear and it would roll out, then wor...

Re: Winter....potholes....and automatics. Ugh!

Winter is coming again. I can't speak about potholes, but I've had to put up with repaving of roads that didn't need it, so maybe the roads that did need it got repaved, too? Re: Seams Tummy Eye Dew Recall.....

Prolly every kinda slushbox has a parking pawl, My '71 Ferd had a parking paul and I once was in a hurry to pick up a carry out and threw it in park while still turning into the driveway of the restaurant. It made a loud ratchet like sound until it slowed to a near stop then lurched to a stop when ...

Now that Dort is one fine machine. Look how easy to change spark plugs on it. Everything is easy to get to. Wonder if that engine will fit in my Fusion.

Re: Sick of the Safety NAZIs

Well the extenders came today and they work great. Of course the first shot at trying them out and the car was going to make a liar of me. Had to drive halfway down the block with no belt to get the chime to go off, but then plugged in the extender and it was gone. They work pretty good. Instead of...
