Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

yo bro, how'd it go?? you pass the test?? :?: 8) As any internal interview to my understanding you can only truly leave it all on the line. This isn't an entry level/basic position so I expect a few internals and a few externals to interview as well. I felt great leaving though and knew tha...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Glad Rope chimed in there for you. Not to sound foolish (too late) but i would have no clue how to approach your situation, probably since i tend to not put myself in real situations like that (i'm usually put into situations more involuntarily or otherwise in making bad decisions or not changing a...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Do you know them well enough to know if they see you as you see yourself? If not, maybe there were duties you were taking care of that they knew nothing about and you can point those out to them. Maybe you have skills or experience that you did or didn't use on projects where you worked with them, ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Question for all: I have a serious interview coming up Monday at noon which I think I vented here when I went on my last interview for advice but this once again, is quite a unique scenario. Has anyone interviewed internally for a promotion with a different team, but are essentially interviewing wit...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I'm waiting to 30k (in less then 4k) for finally replacing the stock tires. I promised I would ride them out even though they were pretty terrible but now I'm ready to upgrade. Sew, whatcha thinkin' about with respect to the tires? Do you need/want something spatial for winter, or can you go for 1 ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Drove back from Milwaukee WI via Joliet IL and had 410 smiles on one tank of gas in the PT Cruiser and the fuel gage needle was still just above the empty mark. I credit it to extremely smooth traffic on Sunday. Curious, how big is the tank in the PT? I just spent 320 miles on the road in a 2017 Ma...

Haha, only name I recognized really was watkins but I couldn't even believe how confrontational it got. This was on a "recommended threads" for some reason for my log in lol- randomly.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

to boot, newer OEM stereos are WAY better than the ones we had even 10 years ago. more power, better EQ and adjustability, better speakers, etc. if you play around with the adjustments a little, you can optimize the sound. you may not be able to blast it without drama like i can (to a point) with m...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I knew about Eclipse decks (yeah I am going to call them that) but I only used Kenwood in my youth. Really have nothing bad to say either the single/double din units honestly are probably better then some of the crap they have in mainstream cars today. I'm pretty sad that it's so difficult to go aft...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

That sounds absolutely terrible! I don't think I could deal with that. The funny and sad part of this is in gauging where my fiancee works and where I work this would most likely get even worse for me (as if what I described seemed like it could). Don't get me wrong, at 7:30 AM-9:00 AM and 4:30-6:0...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

What are your motivations? Are you looking to save the whales? (Collect the Entire Set!) Are you looking at improved economics? To cut your weekly operating expenses? To reduce your overall cost of ownership? Are you looking to appear to be more trendy? The bolded. Honestly aside from some times Sa...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

That was essentially my conclusion. The Bolt does seem like to be a great step in the right direction/advancement though. I can't get over the range limitation/anxiety though on these. I'm picturing myself wanting to drive upstate NY or really anywhere in the new England region (things I do, so it's...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Just had a brief experience with a colleagues Chevy Bolt. This car is definitely an interesting bag of tricks but I have some questions and doubts about long term ownership. I think that I would highly consider this thing on a lease to "try out" though. My big question is mostly the fact that it app...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

On the column shift vs. newfangled buttons issue: My mom's 2015 MKz has newfangled buttons stacked vertically near the already-confusing stereo/HVAC controls. Worse, the Start button is right there at the top of the stack too. The parking brake, if I remember correctly, is just below the ultra-conf...
