Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Starting to vaguely consider a WRX even if I don't necessarily need the power. Going to see what the wonk says and see what's what. If the only real compromise is more power, then I'll deal it. Finances aren't positioned correctly right now. Will continue thinking on't. I would probably pass on tha...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Do tell about some of the issues with the Bu. I've heard there are pretty common issues with the head gaskets failing, but other than that I've not heard much. Truth be told I never was very in the know about Subaru other than that they're one of the only mainstream brands where every model save th...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Thanks for the input on the Subaru. I'm going to see how I like it. The short drive I took in one a few years ago wasn't terrible, but that was a two mile loop on a freeway. Nothing much to find out there. At this point compiling the list of potential options is the difficult part as most manufactu...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I liked the 300, mostly. The seats were a bit uncomfortable for me though even with the adjustable lumbar support. Resale on this is indeed garbage, so you could get one cheapish. Mileage is respectable out of the 3.6, I guess; once managed 27 out of it. UConnect was nice when it worked. Usually co...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

OH NOES!! YOU SAID THE H WORD!!!! My sister’s ‘18 Accord Hybrid EX-L is awfully nice. Doesn’t really feel like a hybrid to me. It's pretty crazy how good the fuel economy of the mid sizes from Toyota / Honda are at this point in hybrid format-- not so different then the smaller class cars. If you c...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Happy March-- made it... I'm still alive- '15 GTI is still alive a lot has changed. I've returned to more of a lurker status here but decided it's time to return with a posted update. I'll try and keep this to the lightning round bullet points without boring details unless feeling for a rant topic. ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I guess it's time for me to come back and have my honorary lifer post. It's long overdue but I wanted to really get everything covered all at once in all areas. Let's start with the good: The GTI is still going strong and now out of warranty so a bit of holding breathe but has been okay so far. I'm ...

Re: Does this unicorn exist?

New York allows for Sunday auto sales? Or are dealers only open for tire kickers and service clients? Minnesota doesn't even allow dealers' sales departments to operate in any capacity on Sundays. Yep... you gotta work 7 days a week baby. City that never sleeps baby. Really though- they are only op...

Re: Does this unicorn exist?

Thinking about test driving a wrangler JL tomorrow... hope it sucks so I can get over this little stint. The JL really only sucks if youre taller than 5'10". The seats just dont move far enough back or drop down low enough. I really hope they do something about that. I did it and I actually had a p...

Re: Does this unicorn exist?

Some updates *was between this thread or the community thread but found more relevancy here* The day before Easter I went to to the NY auto show and participated in the "Camry thrill ride" and "Jeep adventure". I was with a group of friends who aren't really into cars that much... lines for each wer...

Re: Does this unicorn exist?

i can understand the more room and futureproof arguments for getting a midsize SUV vs. compact or CUV (whatever the difference is between the terms), but keep in mind the midsize ones will take a significant MPG hit in around town (city) driving due mainly to having so much weight to carry around. ...

might as well have bolded and italicized the whole quote but whatever...   :D you have snow tires on the GTI?? :?:   8) eye think tony's in his early to mid 30s, based on what little i can piece together of our 7-10 year old convos, mainly at the big SS meats. i hate t...
