Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Can anyone tell me what is the meaning of a large orange letter O in the back window of a car. I have seen this three times in the past week and it is usually about a 10-inch-high O and smack in the middle of the back window. Why would anybody put that on their window?

RE The destroyed Hellcat engine, there really doesn't seem much need to boost power when the car comes with a stock output of 797 horsepower!

How to destroy the engine on $70,000 car!

2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye at Woodward Dream Cruise Look what this guy did, not only a $70,000 car but a lot of speed shop work to boost power considerably: ...the tires spun effortlessly through first gear, bouncing off of the rev limiter before he was able to shift into second. As he...

Re: The beast has come...

was the show on or near Mustang Alley / 9-Mile Road in Ferndale? I saw many Ford Broncos (Bronchi?) at the Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise this year. I thimpk Ford was encouraging their participation as part of drumming up interest in the next generation Bronco. Show was at Ford World Headquarters in ...

Re: Honest Engines

Link for specs on Ford MuscleStang Shelby GT500 Lots of details resplained. https://s3-prod.autoweek.com/2019-08/2020-Shelby-GT500-Esourcebook_0.pdf I looked through the linked brochure and can't find the option for manual transmission. I figured the Mustang died when they put the modular engine in...

Re: How much do you drive manual for the performance reasons vs. the experience?

Probably the worst car I've ever owned in terms of top gear acceleration were my old Foxbody Mustangs. 5th gear was so severely overdrive that the car couldn't accelerate without downshifting first at highway speeds. Flooring the gas pedal did just about nothing unless you were over 80 MPH, and eve...

Re: Frustrations of a new-ish first timer

Sometimes it takes a while, especially with newer cars, but eventually you'll realize that you've stopped thinking about driving and it will be easier. I hope that's the case! :D Yes, it is the case and even after driving stick for 42 years I am not always perfect--in fact, I am rarely perfect, but...

Re: S10 was improved by accident today

...but this repair process only works with two S-10's, right? I think the having two S10s helped much as the bumper heights were the same and all S10 owners are automatic friends with other S10 owners which explains why the guy was so concerned as to ask if my S10 was okay. Now the real proof is to...

S10 was improved by accident today

So this morning I was in the S10 and rear ended another s10. It was a square-on hit as I slid into him on my fairly worn (but still legal--barely) front tires. It hit firmly and it seems some dust or rust flew, but we pulled over and neither truck had any visible damage. My S10 already had the front...

Wait! It does have a manual transmission, so it can't be all bad. :D

Re: So I got two new tires for the Mazda 5 today

The reason this really only matters for winter tires is that most people will never experience a loss of traction in non-winter storm conditions. Good point. I watched the video linked off of AllState's article on this and the car with the new tires on front spun out on wet track but they were push...
