Re: 8 years driving a manual and now this...
Uhhh. Why don't you just no-gas launch? I do that the majority of the time in my Sonic and even the 1.4L with no spool can do that. You test drove the car when you bought it? And it drove like this? And you still bought it? Or maybe its not designed for dudes of your stature? I know I hate dr...

Re: What was the worst car you've ever worked on?
the a/c in it cooled the entire garage with the doors open....and only lost like 5 miles of range. Very cool car. http://www.nickadamsweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/dude-wait-what.jpg Where did it put the heat that it removed? Was its condenser outside the garage, like maybe the nose of the car...

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder
Uhhh, you don't want to drive it. Its been a couple weeks but if you're still having this problem....get some of the fluid on your finger and smell it. Brake fluid, leak, if not it might just be condensation or something. If its leaking at all....think about it. Every time you push the pedal its goi...

Re: Windows 10 nonsense
Windows 7 forever. Swear I'll never upgrade. You can't turn off the privacy invasion completely, they track your data and usage, track programs and hardware you have installed (and can prevent you from installing certain things), can push ads to the start menu and w/e, it just isn't worth it. Its be...

Re: Careless Emission inspectors..
I'm in GA too and I've been to places that let me drive my own car. With my '86 Fiero people couldn't drive it well enough to keep the RPM steady enough for the test so they had me drive it. If I were you I'd demand to drive it myself because of them potentially damaging the car, and I'd threaten to...

Re: What do you look for in a car?
For me, how the car drive's is firmly #1. When I was buying my Sonic I drove a Veloster and a couple other cars and wasn't impressed until I drove the Sonic. Precise handling, very hard to make it understeer (esp for a FWD), hard to make it torquesteer, turns where you expect it to turn, and does al...

Re: What was the worst car you've ever worked on?
Hated working on my Z28....half the engine was tucked under the windshield or w/e by the firewall. Hated working on my MR2 Turbo....couldn't replace anything without removing 2-3 other parts. Had to drop the entire exhaust just to replace an alternator, for one thing. Parts prices were insane....$10...

Re: My Shifting Style
What you're doing sounds like what I do to double clutch. I consider double-clutching to be clutching once to get out of gear, rev-match and clutch again to select the next gear. You don't really have to clutch that much to get it out of gear. I usually only "half-clutch" or at the very le...

Re: Slow to a stop, but then immediately keep going
His problem sounds like engine braking. I know if I'm still rolling a little and select 1st as if to get moving from a stop, the car will slow down when I engage the gear. Unless you're starting from a dead stop it'll have this behavior. Its counter-intuitive because you expect 1st will get you goin...

Re: The MPG thread
It was ok, I liked it but then again I'm not claustrophobic ;). I thought of it as a shrunk down version of my car. About the same with everything, just smaller. The mpg is a deal killer, only the same as the Sonic, and with less car. The CVT was interesting at first, first one I'd drove, but I got ...

Re: The MPG thread
I've been getting 41.5 mixed in the Sonic recently, even did some highway cruising last week and averaged 47-48.. Week before that I took it in for its first warranty work, a vacuum leak @ the pcv. I was getting 38-39 mixed before, its really improved since getting it fixed. Also, they gav...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
I don't trust General Motors as far as I can throw them. There is no way I'd ever spend new car money on a General Motors product. As far as I'm concerned the sooner they fold the better. Can I get an Amen? http://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-10-biggest-car-recalls-of-all-time-2013-02-16 Ford stil...
