Re: 2021 Nissan Frontier - here we go again...
I know you're not supposed to drive it like a sports car but I saw a test drive on a Tacoma with a manuel and the rev hang was pretty atrocious. I don't mind a bit of rev hang, but it looks like it'd be undriveable in day to day traffic.

Re: Bk's new car
Good choice. Sounds like a newer version of my 1999 Accord 5MT. The only regret I have is I wish I got a Gen 7 like yours with the 2.4L engine with the timing chain. My 2.3L has a belt, and I don't know when it was changed. I should just get it replaced. Like yours, it feels good, and is black. Unl...

Re: 2021 Honda Accord sedan only automatic
That's a huge shame. Although I can't say I'm not surprised. With emissions regulations (rev hang), computerization etc.
I'm hoping in a few years to scoop up a 2.0T and get it tuned.

Bk's new car
I rescued a car from the junkyard to replace the VW. A 2004 Accord 4 Cylinder. I must admit, it feels good to be back in a Honda. This thing is amazing to drive. The engine/transmission combo is spot on, the engine pulls strong and the shiftier has a decent throw for being cable actuated. The only b...

Re: Thinking of a replacement car
Wow thats a shame. I feel they're really messing up these light/medium duty diesels. Nissans Cummins was a POS from what I hear, the Chrysler one, Ford and GMs have timing belts and who knows how good they are.

Re: Thinking of a replacement car
that's a shame. I had heard the clutch was hard to get used to on a few videos.
Any experience with the eco diesels? the first and current gen? Are they really as bad as they all say? I've always had my eye on a Grand Cherokee with one.

Re: Thinking of a replacement car
Is yours a JL? A buddy of mine has one with the 3.6.
You said the manual is garbage on the JL? Is it because they went with a cable shifter compared to the direct one in previous years?

Re: Thinking of a replacement car
I know....it gets brought up every time I talk about it with people lol I have thought about the whole trailer thing. My S60 could tow 5500lbs. Amazing how a lot of cars for the american market magically lose their tow rating. Take a look at a golf/focus in the US vs Europe. ideally..I'd like someth...

Thinking of a replacement car
I'm looking at replacing my Passat as soon as this Corona virus lockdown is over. I'm debating at going with an SUV/Truck (to help with moving things) or since I'm still single with no kids, a sportier car/hatch. I'd probably try to find a cheap pickup and stow it at my folks house. I really enjoyed...

Re: New Toyota Supra with manual transmission!
Yeah, I've heard Chrysler's tuning has been mediocre. My buddy has one in a 3 series. Thing is phenomenal, does almost everything you want it to do. I almost think putting a 6 speed in there would be a downgrade. Then again..if its properly tuned.

Re: New Toyota Supra with manual transmission!
Doesn't this use the ZF 8hp series transmission? From what I've heard, it's a pretty nice auto.

Re: Are manual transmission vehicles going to increase in value?
I've noticed that a few models, BRZ, Corvette, Miata..etc. the manual always has a higher price than their Auto counterparts. This is obviously on the used market. e

Re: Electric cars now outsell manual transmission cars
It's a shame but it seems like nobody is dumping money into making a good manual experience. Perhaps the BRZ/FRS, Miata and whatnot seem to be the only new cars that are fun to drive with no rev hang, a good feeling stick and clutch. I've heard horror stories on the stock WRX tune, The Civics aren'...
