Re: U.S. Drivers are the Pits!
I saw a Modern Marvels episode about the Autobahn about 20 years ago. In it they described how the road surface is thicker, how traffic fines are a percentage of your income, that running out of gas can get you in major trouble legally. Also, the show described how difficult it is to obtain a licens...

It had better come with a Jeeves for that price, even if only temporarily.

Re: Where have all the Pump Jockeys gone?
Aren't there still full service stations in New Jersey as a matter of policy?
I've never seen one in Minnesota. Then again I'm only 31.

Does it have any sort of a splat pattern?

Re: BKs New Car
Driven one, well an FR-S, did like, but not for what they're asking for it. I'd rather just have a 2 seater at that point rather than a pointless backseat which people having legs couldn't use.

Re: How to destroy the engine on $70,000 car!
Factory equipped. I've never tried it: not my car, not interested. I've driven the car once, and it was fun in a "this will get old fast" sort of way.

A friend of mine has a Mustang GT with line lock, the use of which will allegedly not void his warranty.

Re: BKs New Car
I've honestly thought about just going way old school and getting an old Mustang or something from the 80s-early 00s. Or perhaps a Challenger from like late 2000s. I'd be curious how they were. I'm glad this VW was cheap enough. I'm sure I'll take a bath on it but it's just unbearable. The rev hang...

Re: BKs New Car
I've not driven the new turbo charged Mazda6 with 225hp/310tq (250hp when using 93). Common complaints on the enthusiast boards is that the NA 2.5 is slow, but I don't think it's necessarily true. The base engine is class competitive in terms of horsepower and, for the year I have, in front of the b...

Re: BKs New Car
Mine tends to do a quick blip between gears, but it's nothing I have any issue with. Then again the first manual I drove regularly was the Kia, so my perception could very well be skewed. I tend to get what I'd loosly characterize as wobbly shits, but that's all my own timing. Gives me something to ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
I also got another over the pants handy because moving seats back to position is apparently not taught anymore. As a tech, the general rule of thumb is that if the seat must be moved to fit, only move it along one axis. That way the customer can easily restore its position. We dont get paid to move...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi
Grr. Had my oil change done today and specified 0W-20 per the manual and was given 5W. My dealer offers 9 free oil changes at 5W, but I've been able to pay an upcharge for the 0W. I also got another over the pants handy because moving seats back to position is apparently not taught anymore. I did ge...
