Re: Stupid Auto Repair Ideas

Summon on a Canadian comedy show once came up with the idea of allowing toxic waste fluids to slowly drip out of a tanker truck as it drove across the country, such that in no one place was enough fluid released that it violated any statutes.

Re: Stupid Auto Repair Ideas

Speaking of stupid ideas, I would enjoy being a fly on the wall at Honda when they discuss how they had to recall a butt-load of cars because gasoline harmed the fuel pumps.

Re: Stupid Auto Repair Ideas

Another forum I am on has a thread titled "Stupid Thread Ideas." Lots of fun. Maybe something like this will work here. so to start. Gorilla tape to fabricate a head gasket in a pinch. How much torque on the head bolts to make this one work? http://my.prostreetonline.com/wp-content/upload...

If you have a dead battery miles from shore, you just might be riding an electric Jet Ski. https://www.autoweek.com/news/green-cars/a36047474/ev-powersports-from-bombardier/?source=nl&utm_source=nl_aut&utm_medium=email&date=040921&utm_campaign=nl23480555&utm_term=AUT_Autoweek_Sta...

Re: How Many Speeds?

My driving is a bit of everything. I commute in semi-regular stop and go traffic, I drive from MA to PA often enough. Sometimes I just drive half an hour or more of pure empty highway to see friends. I tow excessively heavy loads for a little wagon. I want six gears. My current five doesn't cut it....

Re: How Many Speeds?

The times I've wanted more gear ratios, or appreciated having them have mostly been when pulling a trailer or hauling a heavy load. If you have enough ratio to launch on a grade when at a high GCW, and you want a top gear ratio that is relatively economical and quiet for cruising on the freeway, tha...

Re: Manuals you'll miss in 2019...

The 4XE tech is really cool stuff. I'm surprised to see Jeep going in this direction too, if only in concept form. They said it would have a range of ~ 23 miles on battery power before it required recharging / engine start-up. That's driving on public roads. I imagine your mileage may vary if you a...

Re: Manuals you'll miss in 2019...

The manual transmission certainly makes this vehicle more attractive, but I have to think clutching it is a whole different experience, if there even is a manual clutch pedal. The manual in the JL is absolutely garbage already. It is hands down the worst clutch experience I've ever had. If anything...

I had my 2nd dose of the PPHizer vaccine last Thursday and I had to take the next day off of work because I was achy all over - joint pain, headache, - I even had an ear-ache - as well as feverish. When I was a lad, the saying was "If it burns it must be working" when talking about mouth-w...
