You better be making 600 hp if you have a hood scoop that big. To put it another way, if your hood scoop is big enough to suck in small animals, you better have enough power to actually do it. :)

Re: 2008 Golf GTI Vs 2008-2007 infiniti G37

Whats up guys, new to the site and enjoying it. I have an 07 GTI package 0, 6 speed, APR stage 2+ and WALK G35/350Z's. They are overated IMO. Base GTI's only weigh 3000 lb. And stock they're detuned so they don't outshine the weak MKV R32. With a few bolt ons and a tune they really wake up. That's ...

Re: Street racer escapes cops

"The 17-year-old received a $483 fine for excessive speeding, a 15-day driving prohibition and a $109 fine for not displaying his new driver sign. His vehicle was also impounded for 48 hours." PSFT! that's nothing! If the guy was caught in Ontario, that's minimum $2000 fine (maximum $1000...

Re: Ricer Spotted! (Misc. Thread for Ricers)

I just saw a Chrysler 300 (the base model, without the v8 hemi). A Cadillac CTS-V has a 400hp V8 in front and a "V" badge in the back. This Chrysler 300 had a Cadillac "v" badge right under the "300" badge.

*slaps head* wtf?

Re: need advice on a purchase

If I recall correctly, motorcycles are licensed at a graduated rate in the UK. One starts on a sub-250cc bike for a year, then is permitted to move up once that has been mastered. I see no reason to not implement something like this into the US. Yes, a 2.0L and a 6.0L engine will still do 110 MPH, ...

Re: Silly question

Also, is a whirring sound between shifts normal? I had a couple passengers comment on that as well. Yes. Its the transmission parts spinning. A word of advice: ignore your passengers. Chances are they know nothing about driving a stick and will do nothing but freak you out or annoy the hell out of ...

Re: Silly question

Oh yes it does, lol. I have the GMM, the LSS and a solid shift knob as well...so I hear and feel everything in that transmission. It's so noisy...but I love it anyway. I'm sure this is GTO-insider-speak, but what's GMM and LSS? Also, is a whirring sound between shifts normal? I had a couple passeng...

I have a theory that any thread on this forum (that's not political) will have something sexual by the tenth post... Let's see if it's true. ;)

Thanks for the responses, guys. It's good to have one less worry.

Silly question

So maybe I just don't normally pay attention to manual cars, but I just noticed something on my car. When I give the car some gas, the shifter stick will move to the right a little bit. It'll pivot, and the top handle part will swing to the right. It seems to do this in every gear to some degree. Wh...

Re: Is premium gas really required?

Yeah, most cars will deal with higher octane than they're designed for. However, if you run high octane gas through one designed for 87, and run it non-stop, it's gonna create gunk eventually. I don't see how that would happen. It's not like higher octane burns less cleanly. It's just more resistan...
