Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

With the two door, the wheelbase is going to be the limiting factor for towing. I think the reality is that most people don't pay very close attention to tongue weight or overall payload number; they just take the max trailer weight number published and go off that. And as you know, tongue weight, ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I have finally confirmed that the Jeep doesn't mind towing. Put about 2100 pounds behind it (that little 1200 lb capacity Harbor Freight trailer is a champ) and it did quite well both acceleration and braking. Being a two door, the tow rating is only 2000 lbs, but I see no reason that it couldn't h...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Pretty sure it’s an inherent design flaw of many turbo engines. What makes you think the 2.0T is better; it could easily just be that there are far fewer examples of that engine out there. Either way, it’s probably blown out of proportion, like most things. You could very well be correct, but I've ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Hey must have built the armrest in the Sonic for me. The one thing that did car have was good driver ergos. hopefully the new ride is treating you better overall. how's the wild steed holding up?? It’s holding up well! It’s not been three months yet and I’ve rolled past 5500 miles in it, ...

38,500 for new 2016 F150
40,000ish for my current 2019 4Runner.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Yeah, my sonic was a steaming pile of garbage, although some on the forums of the time didn’t seem to have nearly as many issues.

That said, Sonics have not fared well. I don’t see many on the road around here as there are far more corollas and other subcompacts of that vintage seemingly everywhere.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

When I travelled for work at times I caught myself appreciating the total freedom I had over my spare time. I didn’t have a dog to take care of as he was at home taken care of by a friend or GF. But at the same time, there are things in life that I can’t imagine doing without the pupper. We have don...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

In other news, my job search has stagnated and its really due to my inactivity. I’ve found that I have mostly slid back into a certain comfort zone that is interfering. I wouldn’t say I’m lazy, but definitely lost my focus while concentrating on other things going on. I need to refocus on it this we...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I wonder if my parents will be bummed when I never have kids. Its probably in my sister's best interests to not reproduce either. My mom keeps asking me when the kids are gonna come. I don’t know. I’m 35 but I don’t feel like I’m ready for a kid and luckily neither is my GF. We both feel like there...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I have to say, after over 90k combined miles, I'm pretty much over the turbocharged motor deal for a DD vehicle. It's just...not worth it to me as a consumer. It's more complex, it's less reliable (in my experience) and while it wasn't costly out of pocket for me, I think it certainly has a high pot...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Are you able to stroke your stick again with the Yota? I've been vaguely opening my eyes lately to see if AWD can be had with a stick. I'm still a ways off and am not in a hurry, but curiosity gets the best of me. The new Mazda3 can be had with AWD or a stick, but I haven't heard a definitive answe...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

The fact that the tailgate window on my yota fully lowers into the hatch is a huge boon. It's no Wrangler in terms of doors off top off, but I didn't wanna take a chance on FCA reliability, even if I did fit in it.
