Re: Heel-Toe = YAY!

yeah get your rev matches right first.. it will help you figure out how much you need to blip... if you can't match it 100% it's easier to slightly over-blip and let the clutch out at the right time..

Tonya Harding figure skates better than me. Doesn't mean I have to be impressed.

Re: Ken Block Gymkhana Run

This stuff is to racing as figure skating is to hockey. The whole point of precision sport is to string together an whole performance flawlessly. Any journeyman can pull off the individual moves sometimes, then edit them together. Mastery is about putting the entire program together without an erro...

Re: Debt free

I don't see why people need more than 1 credit card, maximum 2 to cover acceptance issues..

I have paid one car loan off in full, now have another.. also have a mortgage.

These are good... they give you a credit history.. debt can be managed, it's not always a bad thing.

The old lady would have refused out of fear. She's been told that strangers asking for help that involves money is bad. Whilst I completely agree with you, it's not her fault..

While i personally believe that he has no connection in his personal belief system what so ever with Islam, why does it matter? Islam, like Christianity, on whole is a peaceful religion. To assume every Muslim is a terrorist extremist, is equivalent to saying every Christian is a member of the KKK....

Re: Suicidal tendencies, ie. Story of buying the Firebird

I'm a nomad by nature. I'm not saying it's hard. Hardest part is leaving current life behind w/o compromising financial stability. Car needs to paid for, house, you know... ETA: I don't have 15k that you spent on this. If I did, it would be used elsewhere for a higher priority issue. Unfortunately....

Except for the huge $$$ requirement, I'm sure. I'd love to do that as well, but I'm just a poor, lowly college student. Not as difficult as you think. I didn't do this until I was 26, I had worked my ass off and had saved a bit to take away. You'd be surprised on how little you can actually get by ...

Re: synchros

I found that if I don't take my foot off the gas completely (like leave it on a hair) the revs don't drop as fast and I can double-clutch fast enough to have it rev-matched. You ever find you feed power through the clutch when you do this? I do occasionally.. assuming it's not that bad considering ...

Re: Warming Up Car?

Cars always need more careful attention when cold... my car over-compensates and revs higher, particularly during gear changes.. its just a matter of listening to what the engines doing and adjusting what you're doing with the pedals.. if it's low in the revs, jump on the gas..

Re: Suicidal tendencies, ie. Story of buying the Firebird

You know I spent about 12 months just wandering the planet.. I saw something like 25 countries.. I wandered through mostly non-English speaking and 3rd world countries.. some that have been closed to the world for decades (Burma) .. I saw people living in abysmal circumstances, I met a man who made ...
