Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

10 mpg to 20 mpg is really where all the savings come in. 10mpg = 10gal/100mile 20mpg = 5gal/100miles Yeah no shit. It's mind blowing. I just did this. My Ram was getting me around ten for my daily driving. My Tiburon is pulling like, 22 mixed (been driving a bit grannyish, it's winter after all) a...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Well shit. Had to help move the rear axle out from under dad's parts truck. Went to lift it, lost my grip, fell on the concrete and busted my knee. Came inside 20 minutes later, went to take a look at it, my jeans are full of blood and I'm missing a nice chunk of skin. Didn't even pick up a wrench ...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

So, during the car fiasco, we were down to one vehicle across the entire property. My bike is in pieces, my restoration job hasn't been started in... I don't want to think about it... Dad's truck blew the differential a couple weeks back... So it was my car, my truck, and my mother's car... Then my ...

Re: CBD's new ride!

Problem seems to be solved. Aftermarket sensor seems to have been a dud. Nice. Swapped in an OEM part (the one that originally came off it) CEL popped off after a long test drive with a few stops, hasn't come back on. The timing is now correct, after replacing the dud aftermarket tensioner with an O...

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

Holy crap. Not a lot of snow so far, but it changed over to rain before the store closed. Glad they salted the lot. Walked outside to see the carnage and almost went on my ass. Typical Ohio driving... The state has the roads in good shape. City hadn't plowed a damn thing. They salted the hell out of...

Re: Angular Gas pedals

I noticed this in my Dakota as well. Tried heel toe once in it and found I had to nearly floor the brake to actually hit the gas with any precision. Granted this is a truck so it's not really an issue not being able to heel toe, I had wanted to practice :( Bit late to this one, but I have to ask, w...

Re: Nissan Versa Drops The Manual in 2017

The last time I looked into it, getting a loan for a used car meant a significantly higher interest rate, higher payments, and higher total amount paid than the same amount on a new car loan. Are we talking a couple years old used car, or in general? My loan was approved at 2.7% over four years. I ...

Re: CBD's new ride!

Well, this turned into a shit fest. Nothing at all to do with the cam sensor. It started running worse and worse, so I parked it when it finally barely started. Decided to check the timing after trying a different cam sensor with no improvement. Cams were both two teeth out of sync with the crank. T...

Re: CBD's new ride!

Update: Timing job done. That was a bitch! It was fun, but you shouldn't have to pull the belt and reinstall it three times to get the damn timing dead on. Also: After I finished the timing job, started it up and lo and behold, CEL for the cam sensor. Most likely culprit is the sensor took a shit. T...

Re: CBD's new ride!

Nice! I test drove one when they were new and I was pretty impressed. Any thoughts on the car yet? Will you be posting a review thread? A few thoughts. I like the layout of things. The caliper swap was a real pain but thus far nothing seems too difficult to do on it. We'll see how I feel after doin...

Re: What happened to this place?

Well, my ass is back on, so tally up one more spontaneous reappearance. Signed my life away to a credit union for a little bit and I'm finally standardshifting again. 'Bout damn time. How y'all doin'? Still here, man, but not standardshifting anymore. At least not on a car - still have the motorcyc...

Re: What happened to this place?

Just like getting back on a bicycle again, right? Not quite. Driving it, yes. One day and I was alright. Doing all the fun stuff like rev matching and heel toe, took me over a week to learn to speak this car's language. Took a bit getting used to having six gears, and I still find myself forgetting...

CBD's new ride!

Great to see you all again! Finally picked up a new (to me) ride, and I'm thrilled to be rowing my own gears again! She's a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon SE, 2.7L V6, 6MT. 87,000 miles, two prior owners, squeaky clean title. Installed mods: CAI and NIA eyelids. Needs: Spoiler is a bit faded, will need repain...
