your car might not have enough power in a particular gear to pass so you downshift in order to be able to pass. same thing with hills - your car might not be able to make it up a steep incline in 6th gear so you go to a lower gear that offers more power.

a little tire spin with a chirp is like the perfect launch. as fast as your tires can handle.

the galant doesn't require premium octane gas. if they tell you that in the owner's manual, don't believe it.

true, but there's a big bottleneck at the wireless part of the connection.

i'm on cable with 5Mbps downstream and 512Kbps upstream.

1) don't know
2) blipping the gas with the clutch in has no effect on the transmission because it only speeds up the engine. so basically, it doesn't matter what you're doing with the shifter while you're blipping the gas.
3) i guess do whatever is comfortable for you.

wow their information on the srt-4 is completely inaccurate. from what i've seen on the dodge website, the msrp for the srt-4 is ~$21,000. that would make it $91.30 per HP, making it the best bang for the buck.

well it really depends. don't launch at redline with a FWD car because all you're gonna do is peel out and not get anywhere. RWD you can launch at a somewhat higher RPM but again, you'll burn rubber if you try to launch at redline. watch what AWD can do  http://www.hpamotorsports.com/HPA_R32_...

you could feather the clutch and gas more aggressively... but your clutch wouldn't appreciate it very much
