Oh i understand that, I was actually looking into the upgrade as a form of saving money in the long run since most ACT clutches claim to be heavy duty. Which in turn, I had hoped if the overall performance and the durability increased it would be a good buy. But yeah, I'm sticking with stocks for now.

Argh again, I'm not posting after this one. (People saying my post count going up unreasonably.) But no, this hasn't been 100% from my head, if you actually read it I have researched it. I don't have experience in multiple racing techniques, but it doesn't take actual experience to research so...

Thank you for your quick replies, I am no where near replacing it yet, but it will be on my mind for when I do need to switch it out.

But since I'm relatively new to standard shift, maybe I should stick with stock replacements..

Argh, I said I'm off the topic, but one thing I read about your thing I was laughing. You actually cited wikipedia! LOL Note: Wikipedia is posted by anyone and everyone that can type a report up. It is not a scholarly source to find information because some of wikipedia is purely opinions posted by ...

Upgrading Clutch

Alright I had a few questions on upgrading a clutch from a stock one to a street/racing/whatever else there is clutch. I heard that when you change the clutch you will need to change the flywheel and also small parts like throwout bearings and such. Thats fine, but what I am wondering is how it will...

I'm afraid I already did that! When I first got my car I went to practice on a hill right next to my house... Its pretty steep... I tried using the handbrake technique to start a few times. After that the burnt smell was evident. I have no idea if it was the handbrake or if it was the clutch.. Edit*...

Alright lets stop using the videos I showed you as the best example. He did do this video to show you how a drift looks like and to do it as much as possible so you can observe the techniques. The problem is there aren't any actual footage of what goes on in Asia. There is no way to prove to a perso...

Okay we know what a burnt clutch smells like now, but what happens when you smell it? Is the damage terrible?

So basically your telling me stuff that your dad tells you when you contest with him. Maybe you should show that video to your dad. To me it sounds like he has been understanding drifting in a different view from you. If you do love Initial D then you would definately know the facts from the storyli...

Oh I forgot to add a little more. True drifters love the DCHT technique. :!: :!: :!: Hmm win some votes? lol Yeah, sad to say no drifting video on youtube can show exactly what I mean except for the anime series Initial D. Now before you go off and bash that, consider this: the anime is very accurat...

After watching those clips you showed, it just shows how drifting and your rally sliding is very closely related. They use very similar lines and techniques. The problem is the rally cars have much more horsepower than the little ae86. Thats why it is bursting out of the corners. Not to mention the ...

Alright, I would like to answer some of the response. You are right about the sliding in the video of the rally. It is purely just sliding on dirt. Its not drifting. 2nd Drifting has been put on to closed tracks and flat ground in America. These guys wear helmets and protective gear, because their d...

Contrary to many westerners beliefs, drifting does increase your speed on turns when you are going downhill on a mountain side. Drifting after being imported to America has become an all show deal. Which has hurt the true drifting community of Asia, and perverted the minds of Americans.

Oh I read on another article about the passenger head bobbing thing. Yeah my head didn't bob at all when he was slipping the clutch on the 2nd gear and on all other gears he does normal shifting with no head bobs from any seat in the car.
