This happens to me always. I've only been driving for seven months, although a friend of mine who has been driving for decades says this happens to her too.

This thread reminds me of an idea I had once - that besides the normal gears, there should be first-second...-fifth reverse gears so you can, if necessary, drive everywhere in reverse at the same speeds as going forward.
