Re: Rate your current manual driving skills from 1-10

Now that would be cool you stalled a DIESEL!!!! thats the biggest manual fail ever. hey give me a break, I...

Re: Waiting on a stoplight
WHENEVER you're stopped? Sorry, but to me this is just stupid, I have never seen anyone in Germany do it.
It's useful on a hill, but otherwise...not very practical in every day driving I think

I don't think it's a Mondeo. Looks more like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/22/Opel_Vectra_front_20080102.jpg/800px-Opel_Vectra_front_20080102.jpg I'm gonna take some rice pics later, but we don't have a lot of them here. I've seen plastic spinner hubcaps yesterday, thou...

Re: Waiting on a stoplight
What about those with, say, older GM cars with the 4th pedal parking brake instead of a hand brake? Are they at some sort of disadvantage then? Definitely. That design was done to allow a bench seat in the front so that the car could accommodate 6 instead of 5 passengers. That became obsolete when ...

Re: Standard or Automatic when driving in traffic all the time
I think he's talking about the buttons in some modern cars that replace the door handle. You just push them and it opens the door a little.Leedeth wrote:Wtf is push button doors?
It's a cool feature, but then again it's another thing that is a lot more expensive to replace

Re: Standard or Automatic when driving in traffic all the time
I've seen those new cars that have an automatic hand brake in form of a button, can you use that the same way ?
e.g. to prevent your car from rolling back?
Or do these cars always have a hill-holding feature ?
I just can't imagine a car without a hand brake. An automatic maybe, but a manual? never.

What do you guys recommend for tire shine? I use the Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel. Stuff works excellent :) Gotta use the foam sponge though... spray cans are worthless. I use the Black Magic Spray...most of the time I'm too lazy to use a tire sponge, so I just spray it on which results in alm...

In my mother's car they replaced the tach with a clock of the same size  My grandma has the exact same car only it's an automatic and they gave the slush version a tachometer and put a digital clock above the mirror  How stupid is that? no tachometer for the manual, only for the automat...

Took me 3 months and about $2000 to get my license. And I was fast. Europe, right? And I drove to Stop and shop to pick up flowers for my mom and it started snowing while I was in there. Coming back home was fun. yeah, Germany to be exact. You have to take a lot of lessons including special night d...

i always cleaned out the tires by shooting water at it straight from the hose (you know, the grip thingys you can put on the end to stop water from coming out? i used that)...i could see the black stuff (later learned it was brake dust, right?) coming out and i'd shoot water at it till no more blac...
