"HEY, MIKEY LIKES IT!" 2020 Honda Accord Sport 2.0 Review: Perfect for a Very Specific Sort of Buyer - AUTOWEEK "It simply isn't true that the family sedan is dead, even if American manufacturers seem to be more or less ignoring it in favor of crossovers. At the same time, sedans like this—which do...

Re: New member

Thanks for responding. I don't live anywhere near bumper to bumper traffic so I'd have very few reasons to give up a daily manual any time soon (knock on wood). I find driving overall pretty boring with most cars, and being forced to shift makes it much less so. believe me when eye say it has more ...

Welcome to the SS!! :D  Nice wheels you have there. Yes, the forum is slow most of the time, but people do come in here and post from time to time; it seems to come in waves. I once felt the same way as you, but have mellowed my views on manual or bust in recent years. i have a second car w...

Re: 3/4 of a Century and still the problem

i don't see the problem with automatic creep; if anything, i like it. nothing quite like rolling through slow but steady traffic without touching the pedals.

Re: Misc Thread VI: Return of the Threadi

I've seen worse videos on explaining how the clutch on an Amish vehicle functions. Anyone notice the glaring fault? eye made it about 3 minutes in before i couldn't maintain enough attention to watch anymore. he did say something about ...

Re: Are manual transmission vehicles going to increase in value?

It's just a thought, but do you think our manual transmission vehicles will start to command a higher resale value (private sale, not dealer trade-in) as fewer and fewer new cars become available with manual transmissions? Or will they simply become a major liability because nobody will want them, ...

Re: Upshifting Technique Question

How can that be smooth? Your technique must be good. haha my dad showed me to feel the stick for when it stops vibrating to know when to shift. 'tis much harder in newer cars with cable-linked shifters or otherwise disconnected shifters that don't feel connected to the gearbox. the only synchro box...

Re: Upshifting Technique Question

I float out clutch in with most of my shifts on my Jeep. Just seems to be a habit I've unconsciously gotten into from driving a big truck more than my personal vehicle. It does seem to be pretty smooth most of the time though. Is that what it is called. I thought I was just being lazy, but coming i...

Re: Electric cars now outsell manual transmission cars

Problem is, who can afford those? You need the cars that are in the 20-30k range to be good to keep the younger generation interested. If its all just 50-90k sport cars then you lost a majority of the younger generation. Then by the time they can afford those expensive cars, they won't know what a ...
