I been working thats why I haven't been on. My front tires are worn because of reving using clutch to launch and fry the tires at a light. Keep in mind I only done that 5 times in 3000 miles. Most of the time the rubber comes from shifting and it makes the typical scrthh sound when you go to 2nd at higher rpms. I had fun in my car a little just like allll my cars I had none of them ever messed up the VW just dies.

squealing the tires on a shift isn't "typical", and neither is doing burnouts. it's abusive. some cars can take more abuse than others. if you were driving a sports car then i would say it's surprising it couldn't handle a little of that, but it's a Jetta.

Since you bought the car new, you already lost money on it the second you drove it off the lot. Now vee dub wants money from you, for fixing the trans.
I'd like to believe it's not your fault, but with only %50 tread on the front; your admitted aggressive driving habits; and with the overrev codes, it seems very suspicious...

The second you drive the car off the lot, it starts depreciating. Also, by getting hte chip in second, that just proves that you are driving WAY too agressive or the car to handle. Cars, unless they produce insane power (relative to the vehicle), shouldn't chirp on a shift to 2nd.

our VW hasn't failed...and its 6 years old

only thing that has failed on gpas VW (that i know of) was water pump (or something like that...)

heavens! my uncle (in CA) is driving an OLD (60s-70s) yellow beetle..it still works!

Yeah the water pumps are crap. They're plastic and they put them deep inside the engine bay where it's hot. That's smart. Way to go VW. I haven't seen one VW without a check engine light on.

VW waterpumps are now metal. To my knowledge anyway.

my advice...clear your over rev codes and get new tires in the front then go to the dealer...they deserve to be scammed anyway.

Next time I could scam them but for now the damage been done lol. The dealer and VWoA already said to deny warranty for that car and I have to pay for the tranny myself. If I wanted my car back I could just pay someone to build it back together like it is and it would work but would be noisy with no third gear. Lol it makes me scared to even shift at any kinda of higher rpm band even at the drag strip because how can I race to get a good time if it shreads instantly everytime. Why the shreads never happen in anyone else cars I know that drive they cars like Indy 500 or something lol?

My 2nd gear only chirps abit on a redline shift... he has to be over driving the car.

People who drive them hard don't do burnouts and don't chirp the tires when shifting, no matter how high the rpm. I run it up to the redline about once a week and shift without jerking, let alone chirping tires. I've engine braked driving downhill with the tach pointing at 5000 for a whole minute. I have 57000 miles on my car with no transmission problem. Something seems wrong with your techniques, especially when you're down to 50% on your tires in 3000 miles.

maybe your tires are really soft (and therefore very grippy) and they wear down fast
then by being grippy, when you pop the clutch while bouncing off the rev limiter trying to be dope taking off from a red light, tires, instead of burning out forever, they grab and then all the torque and torsion goes into your differential

but i dont think it matters if you dont have a LSD in your car. i know in LSD cars, tires that are too grippy can mess up your diff.
