greetings from western Mass
Hello,
I just found this site while looking for some specific info on my transmission. I also noticed a member I know from another board, which is always nifty.
I'm driving a 04 matrix with a five speed. I don't have a lot of experience with a standard. I first learned to drive on one, but never got good at it. In the last few years I picked up an 88 Toyota truck with a four speed and killed the clutch on it. 190k miles on it, it didn't take much, also with the choke set wrong I put a lot of effort into not stalling as restarting often required starter fluid. I put a new cluch in it (a really crappy weekend laying in mud), but haven't driven it much as there is no way in hell that thing will pass state inspection.
I've gotten much more comfortable with the matrix, it runs a lot better and has a tachometer. I drive with fuel economy in mind. But I feel like I must be doing some things wrong.

Welcome to the board! Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind. The Matrix was one of the first hatchbacks that I liked for the utility aspect of the vehicle - it certainly isn't the prettiest thing out there but it gets the job done just fine. Instead, I bought a Ford Fiesta, which is a slightly smaller version of the same thing (but slightly better looking too )

Also IMBoring25. I think I've seen a few others from GS, and now that it's merged with Fuelly that's potentially a big cross-section of users.DrJerryrigger wrote:The Holy Cow from gassaver...well I guess it's now fuelly.

Thanks, this seems like a good forum. considering the technical nature of the subject matter, often places like this end up being a cesspool of trolls arguing.Squint wrote:Moofasa gets around on the internet.DrJerryrigger wrote:The Holy Cow from gassaver...well I guess it's now fuelly.AHTOXA wrote:Welcome! At least it's no a vibe or ,shudder, an Aztec... I wonder why Pontiac did so poorly? Their G6 was so fly...
Really thought, on many levels I like driving an amazingly unremarkable looking car. I'm way more calm while driving by a cop than I was in the 88 truck with the wood bed and poorly welded exhaust system. Even with some little aerodynamic mods I don't think I'll stand out too much.
Edit: fixing words my phone typed wrong, it was my phone not me! Also, hi Cow.

We don't really have any trolls on this website. The 5 people that do post regularly have been around for a while. It's more than 5, actually. It's, like, 7.

That's great! More than 12 gets sloppy, less than 3 isn't really a forum.

Well yes, but without extra unnecessary plastic bits to make it look worse.tankinbeans wrote:But, but it IS a Vibe...
