Driving to Chalk River going 90-100 the entire time, then took the 417 to Ottawa going 110 the entire time, I hit 5.8 L/100 KM (40.5 mpg) really easily - this is on twisting roads so i drove to have fun on them. I could have probably hit straight 5 (47 MPG) if properly motivated on that going 90 the entire way in fifth, managing throttle up hills and such.rei wrote:That said I'm only on my second tank and during break-in... plus it's just reported numbers from the dash right now as opposed to measuring it through fuelly or similar, I'm taking a long drive to Chalk River Ontario then Ottawa then back home to the Greater Toronto Area in the first week of august and I'll tell you my numbers there / get Fuelly put up in my sig.
Coming home on the 401 with a passenger going 120 I was at 6.8 L/100km (34.5 mpg) and the tank got me pretty mcuh exactly ottawa to home, nowhere near my old Jetta which would get 5 at that speed, but I figure if I eased off by ten kph I could have a way better tank.
AC on the entire time on both trips.
