John, the thing that blows stock struts when you lower the car with some springs isnt the lower ride height. its the bound/rebound frequency
with the stock soft springs, the shock has to compress slow and extend slow. with the new stiff springs, they are much stiffer, when you hit a bump they dont compress as much, and when they extend back out, the strut follows. the bound/rebound cycle on an aftermarket spring is much quicker than on a stock spring.
basically, the car moves up and down much faster over a shorter distance. this very fast strut extension and compression is what the strut cant keep up with and it will eventually boil the fluid and blow out.

Temporary license good for 90 days. I figure it'll give me time to learn the bike, and if I decide that I definitely want to keep it, I can go take the skills test for a permanent one.Warner wrote:Wow, nice! Do you already have your license for that?

Things went well financially last year, so I decided to buy this toy as a treat for myself. It's almost like an anti-mid-life-crisis, because I realize that I won't be able to have a motorcycle until I'm at least well through my forties. Better now than worry the future family.

Wow, long time no see.
Not bad; I think it's an improvement. Little by little you've removed almost all of the black that used to be on that car.
