Rims and drop

Nice car though. Only thing I don't like about the MKIV's is that all the ones I've sat in have this nasty rank smell.

Well, I'm hoping to put a set of stock 15 inchers from a high end GolfImage on this summer.

And that smell I do believe is the scent that the plastic interior emits when it gets hot. Sort of a waxy crayon smell

Yeah, Saabs and VWs are known for smelling like a Crayola factory when it gets hot.

I think you have some extra doors on that thing.

I wouldn't mind some extra doors. Getting a large load of groceries into mine can be annoying as I have to lean in from the hatch to load onto the folded-down backseats.

I dont have that problem. I just drop down from above.
Actually, I just dislike having four doors. When I eventually need a sensible family vehicle Ill cry. Then get an STi. Or pimp out a Sienna.

Please never pimp out a Sienna. There's no shame in driving an extremely useful, extremely practical, and very comfortable vehicle. There's lots of shame in pimping a minivan.

Another Dubber!!! And a MKIV to boot! My friend has a VR6 GTI, my other friend has a 1.8T Jetta, and I have a 1.8T GTI and NONE of our cars smell like crayons no matter how hot it gets in Hawaii. My friend's wife's Jetta 2.slow however DOES smell like crayons. I've noticed other dubs that smell like crayons too and I like the smell.

BTW nice Golf. I like those rims. If you just want to mod your car those would be awesome. If you want to be a dubber, you need to get some 17's and drop your car until you're tires are rubbing from just getting in the car and poke the wheels outside the wheel wells so much that you take up the entire lane on the highway. Even after the drop and the poke you should take a picture of it and post it on www.vwvortex.com under the Golf/Jetta IV forum so that other dubbers can tell you that you're not low enough and you need to go even lower...but I would never do that. Time for techtonics catback and a chip?

No, the MKIV's I've been in while looking for a car mostly smell like pets and piss and stale water in the seats. People need to take better care of their cars, I swear :x

Oddly, besides changing the rims, my plans are to keep her pretty much bone stock for now. Soon as shes paid off though, she becomes fair game for tinkering with.

And Leedeth, where do ya see this V6 :?

Honestly. Those four intake pipes clearly suggest that this is an I9

Well, it looks like one, because it extends right up to the front of the engine bay.
