In a situation like that, usually it's best to give the car a small amount of gas as you're slowly releasing the clutch in order to make sure you don't stall out your engine. Alternatively you may rev-match downshift into first gear by blipping the throttle before releasing the clutch (although its usually not a good idea to downshift into first gear).

Just to add to the points already made:

If you have a 6MT, chances are that you will be able to cruise at low speed comfortably since it's geared a bit better for that reason and pulls harder at low speed vs a 5MT.

If you have an engine with a good amount of torque delivery down low you will also be less likely to stall vs the opposite.
