Meguiar's SwirlX
Has anyone tried Meguiar's SwirlX? The Texas FC has some light swirling on the roof and tops of the doors that I'm looking to get rid of. If SwirlX isn't any good, what do you suggest?

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
This shit works. I used it the other day on the Viggen and I was quite pleased. No, it wont take out big scratches, but it seemed to do well for smaller ones. Although I havent waxed it, so theres no way to know for sure. But Ill probably get some Turtle Wax Ice wax so it wont leave residue anyway

Sweetness. I'll be picking some up tomorrow then. The swirls aren't really that bad, you can only see them in bright sunlight, but they are there, and that bothers me, run-on sentence .

Maybe it was ScratchX I used. Not sure. Whatever my dad had purchased. Either way, it worked.

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
Maybe I'll get both :suspect: I need to pick up a really nice microfiber towel too.

Dont waste your money. Use an old T shirt. They work better

yeah. they say microfiber is awesome for drying but thats a bunch of bullshit. microfiber doesnt soak anything in. old shirt does

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
I use old shirt for everything except the washing itself. Being old and worn makes them incredibly soft. Cotton in shirt weave form doesnt leave bits of fiber behind. And most importantly, theyre free. You already got your use out of them as clothes.
On the rare instance when I do actually need something a little more textural than old shirt, I use a terry towel.

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
Hmmm. Thanks for the heads up. Never even thought of using old shirts. I use newspaper for window cleaning and that works great. I'll have to try the old t-shirt drying method this weekend if it doesn't rain.

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
So I picked up some SwirlX today, hopefully going to try it out tomorrow. However, I am new to this whole 'giving a crap about what your car looks like' stuff, therefore I have a noob-ish question: Since the SwirlX is meant to directly affect the surface of the paint, would a recently-applied coat of wax prevent it from working? I waxed the car about a week ago, do I have to 'de-wax' it somehow?

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
that actually sounds like a legitimate question. but i don't think the coat of wax would have that big of an effect on the SwirlX. but i could be wrong, its happened before. the last time i was wrong it created the Hiroshima bomb.

Re: Meguiar's SwirlX
If the SwirlX doesnt want the wax there, it will take it away.
