You should sand those chipping/peeling areas down smooth and then cover it with the PD. Actually, do the entire panel or better yet, the entire vehicle.

That would be the right way to do it. Suppose it's a good opportunity to see how the stuff peels.

Suggestion for you--- watch a few YouTube videos to learn how to apply and how to remove the stuff. A simple thin coat will not allow you to peel it correctly. You need several (usually 3 or 4) coats if you plan on removing the stuff. The best videos to learn about PD are from a guy named Fonzie at dipyourcar.com.

You are right. This stuff is not fool proof. I got some overspray on my windshield and it will require a razor blade to remove it, but it doesn't bother me and with two stone chips I am just waiting for the crack so I can replace the windshield anyway. But the truck is kind of a beater, pretty rusty underneath, right door bottom rotted to separation, tailgate and bed side have holed through. I need someone who can dedicate the time to do it right. Would love to get this stuff in a darker green and paint whole truck, or maybe red to match Clutchdisk's truck.

I'll watch the video later. Thanks!

This is probably going on my mom's rocker panels. She complained recently that they get covered in road grime that she can't remove.

Toe of my black shoe was all scuffed up, so I taped it off and sprayed it with PlastiDip. Looks much better than it did, may need a second coat:

I use a Sharpie for small blemishes in my shoe. If you look closely you can see it, but from head height you need decent vision (which most people around here don't have) and either way you need to be staring at my feet.

Thought about a Sharpie, but the Plastidip seemed like a more fun way to do it. It is extra work masking off the area. But it smells better than the Sharpie and the smell lasts longer. :P
There is a lady who is plastidipping all sorts of things for decorative purposes, including the toes of some silver sparkling shoes as shown on her web site: http://www.tatecreates.com/plasti-dip/
