J-B Weld
Do any of you have any experience using J-B Weld for automotive applications? A bracket on my intake split in two, and I'm wondering if J-B Weld is strong enough to repair this, or should I take it to a shop to have it re-welded back in the old-fashioned way?

Re: J-B Weld
Despite the name, JB Weld isn't really a weld (they like to call it a "cold" weld), but rather a two-part adhesive, similar to the epoxy mixes available. It's strong stuff, but it's definitely not as strong as an actual weld. I've used it as a temporary fix on everything from exhaust system components to interior pieces. I wouldn't really consider it a permanent repair though. Why not give it a try if you're using it on a part that's not going to cause any big problems if it doesn't hold. You can always get it properly welded down the road if the JB doesn't hold up.

Re: J-B Weld
Just for the record, it didn't work.
I should've figured... if the original weld broke, a "non-weld" weld would break even easier.
