Unfortunately, the insurance company kept the car and I don't have any more access to it. I had to let 'em keep it because they gave me so much money for the damn thing :-/ Sorry bro.

Poor car does not get its last respects! It neither lives on nor receives a proper Viking funeral

Put a Saab badge on the BMW

And drive it to the eventual meet!

Hehe, actually, I have my old Saab-branded coreganizer in the trunk, so that's a start

Very nice find! My cousin had a 330i ZHP and I drove it before. Of course, I was still driving my MS6 at the time, so speed-wise, it felt a little lacking, but everything else felt superb. Great shifter, handling, and feel. Interior was standard BMW perfect. Steering wheel was super nice too, made me very jealous and wanting an alcantara cover for my then current steering wheel haha :)

Hope you have fun with the car.

that shifter doesn't look that comfortable. i prefer completely round shifters so my backhand is easier, and it makes it easier to seamlessly move my hand around it when i have to do alot of shifting in a hurry

It definitely feels different at first, but I didn't find it to compromise my shifting at all. Or if at all, not nearly as much as the other things I had to get used to, like the shift points and rev-down behavior. And that spawn-of-Satan CDV. I'm no longer double-clutching my upshifts unless I do a block shift. I find that the spacing between any gears that are two apart from each other (6-4, 5-3, etc.) feels pretty similar to the adjacent gear spacing of the Viggen. I'm starting to get pretty smooth with her, but there's still learning and modding to do.

saabs are also famous for their extremely wide gearing. my buddies saab that i drive alot is impossible to get a good 1-2 shift unless you slip the hell out of the clutch when your clutching out after you hit 2nd gear, because if you just dump it once you catch 2nd the motor goes from 7k to 3.5k, loses boost (no BOV) and when you floor the gas after the shift it feels like something broke because of how little power the engine is making. he's getting rid of it anyway so i just beat the shit out of it on a long road by my house and managed to get it up to 100 in about a mile. twas fun

That's weird, I'm the complete opposite.

Now that I got that out of the way, HOT SHIT that thing is clean. A lot of the 3-series around here have matte black front wheels and are generally unpleasant to look at. Basically owning a BMW to...own a BMW. How hard was it to scout out one that WASN'T a beaten to shit base model slushbox?

Oh, and can you send some kind of beacon out to all your 3-series compatriots to make them stop tailgating me? Cause I'm gonna kill one soon.

I test-drove equivalently priced brand new BMW and Mercedes models and found the BMW to be far, far superior. Before that I assumed that both were merely about showing off the logo...status symbols. After driving them I couldn't imagine paying so much for that Mercedes and driving that piece of crap with its stiff ride, mediocre-at-best handling, engine NVH, and slow acceleration. The BMW was quiet, comfortable, handled perfectly, braked wonderfully, and accelerated nicely.

Yeah, if you want to overpay for a car that will break down every other day.
