Coolio bike, I'm looking for a dual-sport one of these days...

It's not bad for a cell phone video.

An update on this bike: the engine seized a while ago. I can thank one of my friends for that one. Also, I found out that the bike is an '84 and not an '83. Gotta love VIN numbers! Not that it really matters now. I have no plans to get it running again. I added some pics to my original post.

Ouch! What's the story with that? I'd be slightly bothered with whoever did something like that to my bike.

Looks like you had some excessive crankcase ventilation there.

The engine needed a rebuild... what bike doesn't after 25 years? Anyway, it was stored in my friend's garage because I didn't have room at my place. He decided to take it out on the trails, basically beating the shit out of it like he does to all of his bikes, and he still wonders why it died. It's funny though... when the engine seized and rear tire locked up, he lost control and broke his foot.

I guess I can't really complain since I got the bike for free in the first place. I have a much better bike now anyway.

It's Yamaha's new air-cooled design.
