The headlight wipers only come on when you activate the washer cycle, not every time the wipers are on

In theory, I love black wheels, but they can make tires look like dirty gum erasers. Graphite wheels diminish this effect, and look really good. Niiiice!

Still, one absent minded oops if they're frozen in place, and you have an awfully big oops to deal with.

What's the worst that happens, they get frozen in place and tear?

Considering there is no Saab on the planet where the headlight wipers work correctly anyway, who cares?

my friend wes's white 9-3 has non-functional headlight wipers. they're pretty much the most pointless thing ever.

Hehe, that's exactly the article that inspired me to find pics of that Lexus :)

It would, except a rodent chewed through that hose and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet. :-/

My oil pressure gauge that caused me many headaches is finally permanently installed.

Its one of these GlowShift units: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/black-7- ... gauge.aspx
For simplicity I have it hooked up to a sandwich plate I also purchased from GlowShift: http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/oilfilte ... nf-16.aspx
Pretty obvious install on that end. Screw in, wire it up, run the wires through the firewall......

Where it got interesting was the interior. The ultimate goal with this car is to keep everything looking as factory as humanly possible. This is why my boost gauge is where it is, why I bothered with a radio surround, and why the Scangauge is tucked away neatly.

Not having a second headlight switch hole to mount this in and hating pillar pods I had to come up with something more creative in the dash or console. You may or may not remember the pod I made for the convertible. It was grotesque. I wanted class in the Viggen. As a refresher, heres what the old one was:

Image

It would not do!

I ended up buying a second console both as a test dummy and for parts.

Using the pod surround from the gauge, some ingenuity, and the spare console, I came up with this:

Its not perfect, but it works for me. Its actually very well aimed and I can see it perfectly from my driving position. The two buttons are not just there for filler. The one on the left is a shutoff for the gauge. Not having a lighting wire like the boost gauge (stupid Glowshift) means I had no way to dim it. The only solution is to shut it down. The right button is a kill switch for my radar detector. Heaven forbid I get pulled over the last thing I want is Phillip squawking away.

Overall shots:

While I had the ENTIRE lower dash apart I also installed this Bad Larry in the glovebox. 400 watt inverter hardwired directly to battery power.

And a glory shot for fun:

I like the pod you made for the convertible better.

I love the inverter.

Its ghettoness is unacceptable in this car. It was also a lot more work for something that looked unpolished.

I want a car like yours.

I like the set up. So one kills the radar detector (like cuts off power to it from a power point?) and the other shuts off the gauge light?

You can have one for the low price of $8000 for one in good shape. Assuming you can find one

How would one make it look Polished? Display it in the town square of Warsaw for a year? Give it a cute, ethnic name tag that says "Spiggy"? Sit it on a plate of kapusta and kielbasa? Hang a red and white flag behind it? Put a German Luger on one side and a Russian AK47 on the other?
