They have swiveling heads, IIRC. They allow slightly different bolt patterns, like using a 5x110 wheel on a 5x112 hub. I suspect that they should only be used for hub-centric configurations (where the hub hole bears all the weight and the bolts merely hold the wheel close to the hub).

Update after a long time of not being on here: about a month ago, I sold the BMW, right after re-doing the wheels, headliner and a bunch of other stuff. It was at 211k and ran like it just rolled out of the factory.
I bought a 98 Impreza L to tool around in (yes, it's still a manual tranny) ...
Would be lying if I said I didn't miss the BMW ... I miss it a lot, but I pocketed some money in the process and I only have 1500 in the Suby so it means I don't really give a shit about it. I let other people drive it, I park it in any space I can find, I don't wash it ... it's awesome. Can't wait for the snow either. Perfect beater. Not to mention <80mph, it would rape my old BMW. lol

Yep, definitely not a very common color on a Suby.
I am no stranger to Suby's either ... between my dad and I, we have owned a few.
I still miss my last Impreza ... twas a 2000 L wagon 5sp ... my first manual trans car.

ps. This one I have has the 17" Enkei wheels in the pics, but the offset is so low and the car is so soft, that if I go over a dip in the road while cornering or with a person in the back, it rubs the hell out of the wheel arches. Oh, and it has a WRX single tip catback and a RS short shifter (courtesy of yours truly), to make it just a little more enjoyable to drive.

Well I bought another car.
I bought a 97 NA Miata 5sp ... let's just say after driving this thing for the last week (in which I did 500 miles already), every other car feels huge, unresponsive and like a big turd.
The car is amazing as a whole, but the tranny/shifter/clutch are superb ... it's so easy to rev match correctly or flick it through gears, I seriously dont think I can ever get used to driving another car again ... my Subaru, with a short shifter, feels like I have to go into another county to go from one gear to the next compared with the stock shifter on the Miata.
Anyway ... here's a pic or two ... it has 15 inch Rage wheels and a Hard Dog roll bar as far as mods go. Aside from that, it's fairly stock and I really don't plan to do much with it.

edit: Yes, I have since replaced the Eclipse shift knob with a stock knob ... the thing was huge; definitely ruined the feel of an otherwise top notch transmission

Definitely a car everyone should at least drive (if not own) in their life ... just to get a feel for how a car should steer and function. The simplicity is beautiful.

I want a Miata. It would have been cool if Mazda made the NA Miata a hardtop with a hatchback, threw in a rotary and called it a second gen RX7. As much as I like the FC, the NA Miata is closer to the original first gen RX7 formula.
