Valid point, they are driving bricks. They have the same 4 cylinder engine as the Camry, and the handling is more like a car than an SUV. However, it's louder on the inside than most Toyota products (one downside of Scions, I guess it's a way they save money?). It does have a large amount of storage space and both rows are comfortable for adults to sit.

But it still does look like a driving brick.

Just need to add enough spoilers, lights, and stickers to make it seem pimped out... (/s)

Excitement, brah...same as the noise pipe in a VW.

I decided to take a few pictures since I haven't posted any in a long time. Pardon the messy garage, every time I attempt to straighten up I end up working on the car instead .

That door panel is the only interior piece left at the moment.

Every time I attempt to straighten up or work on the car, I end up doing nothing instead.

^That also happens .

perhaps a more correct sentence would be "Whenever I end up doing more than nothing, I attempt to straighten out the garage but then end up working on the car instead. Maybe."

So, the area above the taillights is plagued with several deep scratches (down to the primer, a couple small metal spots), so I decided to try my hand at painting and blending. I figure it'll always look like shit with the scratches, so if I end up messing up the paint it will still just be shitty, BUT there's a chance of it coming out good.

My inspiration was pretty much watching this video :

Man, if my garage looked like that my mom would have a fit. I've got a few spare car parts lying around and I still hear about it everyday.

Escape Roads: 1994 Mazda RX-7 R2
It was a cold and damp November morning in 2003 when an Intercity Lines semi-truck pulled up in front of my house in southeastern Michigan. The bounty that was to be unloaded from the 18-wheeler into the possession of a 20-year-old me was a 1994 Mazda RX- 7 R2.

So, in the last few days I placed several major orders of stuff for this car, it's coming from a combination of Rock Auto, Mazdatrix, and Himni Racing:
- Himni Racing polyurethane engine mounts
- Himni Racing polyurethane transmission mounts
- Energy Suspension poly bushing kit
- copper-clad exhaust nuts (for manifold-to-engine)
- new rubber brake hoses for all 4 corners
- full round of Speed Bleeders (brake bleeders with a check valve in them)
- Rear wheel bearings
- brake line clips
- Rear caliper rebuild kits and hardware kits (fronts have been rebuilt and are still in good shape)
- transmission output shaft seal
- front and rear wheel bearing seals
- OEM thermostat
- DTSS (rear steer) eliminator bushings
- rear axle nuts
- shifter return-to-center spring
- all new o-rings and grommets for fuel injectors

I've already received some of it, the rest will be here shortly.

Sounds like my order last Spring. Sure was nice after I actually put half of that stuff on. The other half...I'll get around to that eventually. Or not.

My original plan was to thoroughly paint my calipers and drums for rust protection but I ended up in a big rush. That stuff is already showing lots of surface rust.
