I really love this exhaust. It's quieter than my dad's Cherokee at idle, but at WOT it screams louder than a virgin banshee getting reamed by a horse. My shifter seems to feel alot better now. Before, it felt like rowing a paddle through a bucket of molasses, but now it has more 'snick-snack' to it. I'm guessing the exposure to temperatures above freezing had something to do with it.

Not yet. I still need to bleed the brakes (no room! ) And I ran into some issues with the tail lights (rant incoming)

So I've had a burnt out rear turn signal for a while, and I finally got around to replacing it today, along with the rest of the bulbs in the tails. They all went smoothly until the passenger side turn signal. That thing wouldn't budge. I pried at the metal socket, squirted a little PB Blaster in there and rocked the bulb back and forth. No matter what I did, it wasn't moving. Eventually, I got the awesome idea to wrap a rag around the bulb and grab the base with some channel locks. Of course, the second the channel locks touched the glass, the bulb shattered all over the hatch (good thing the carpet isn't in there.) I spent at least an hour trying to dig the rest of the bulb out with some needle nose pliers, but that thing is permanently stuck in there. I guess I'm going to have to run up to the junkyard tomorrow and snip one off.
I definitely learned from this experience and slathered the rest of the bulbs with dielectric grease... Oh yeah, tiny glass shards stuck in your fingertips really hurt.

Best bet would've been smashing the bulb, clearing out the base of broken glass, and sticking the pliers in there, but using them the opposite way. Like, spread them as much as you can, and twist. That usually gets the socket out. I've had to do that like once or twice, especially on the front turn signals in my '86 Fiero.

Dielectric grease = win. I have a huge tube of it. Use it all the time.

I don't think I really even had any hot-start issues, it flooded once, but hasn't since.

Pulled it out and hosed it off today (ish was dustaaayyyy!! )








Also went out for a ride. It drives so much better than it did before. Other than me failing at the 1-2 shift, it was a pretty smooth ride. The tires were still a little wet so I got a little wheelspin at a stop sign. It was fun.

Hey now, don't forget about the passenger side front fender . Once I reattach that molding piece, it will be immaculate! But yeah, other that those 2 things, it's made of piss and shit. That's why I'm in the market for a roller from the south or out west. My car lived in Chicago till '04, and I guess the original owner drove it year round and the salt tore shit up. Yet another reason to hate winter *grumble*.
