Stop wasting time and Cam it. you've got a 95, should have dual valve springs.
I see you've got mods on it so i've deduced you care about performance.. That thing is a DOG. Woof! woof!
it will never drive right until you cam it. AutoTech 270* or go home. 99 dollars last time i checked.. you spend all that money on your car and then it hits you..that the only thing a 2.0l needs to be as fast as it can possibly be in a million years without a turbo is a Chip and cam..and maybe SRI
That thing will change drasticlly after a cam. might have to get that TT chip re tuned.
Cams are a 30 minute operation on that engine, and 20 of those minutes is removing the valve cover..PM me if u have any questions or fears..it's easier than an oil change.

EDIT: Ahh, i see you've already Got plans for Cams. Autotech 270s too.. exxcellent

rofl yeah, i actually had a 270 waiting to go in, but then my old engine blew so I sold it and the timing belt kit for a bit more cash to help pay for the new one.

Thing is, if this new engine only has 70k miles on it, I doubt it's an OBD1 engine (probably an OBD2 that's just running with all my OBD1 accessories on it).

I really hope it's just a low-mileage OBD1 because I don't wanna have to buy HD springs along with everything else (lifters, timing belt kit cuz i might as well)

Update!

Got the cam put in, but the car is currently running like crap because I have to send the ECU chip out to get re-burned for the cam and my current mods. It's kinda cool, it idles all lopey like a muscle car now...I'll put a vid up soon of it (before I put the new chip in).

I did give it a run on the freeway with the old performance chip, and it seemed quite a bit peppier...3rd gear actually became good fun on the highway. To be honest though, I was kind of expecting a little more from the cam...it was funny, because I had a hard time feeling if it really had more power or not, it might be because the cam's power delivery is very linear and doesn't really have a jump in power in the high end, coupled with the fact that it's such a moderate cam to begin with.

Dynolicious reports 107whp average, up from 98whp average before the cam, so the iPhone g-meter can feel the difference...but apparently my butt-dyno can't. Weird. Even my friends say they can definitely feel the increase in power...

Maybe it'll run even better with the new tune, we'll see...

Oh, and I got a ticket for not having a front plate because my euro plate fell off on the freeway. Yay.

So in California a Euro plate that doesn't even have your real license plate number is considered OK? How bass-ackwards...

Update 27 Apr 2009

-Installed a VR lip.

Current to-do list:
-Eibach Sportline springs
-20mm spacers in the rear
-Textured side skirts.

DO WORK, SON

Update 29 Apr 2009

Image

Cracked my projectors open, got some sheet metal and made new cutoff shields.

I can still tell the difference between true HID projectors and HID's in eBay halogen projectors like mine...but for now they work great, and I don't have to worry about throwing bright HID light into anyone's face.
