Book: Mercury Cougar 1967-1987

Post by Puchrider »

This is a nice read that discusses the history of the Mercury Cougar (up until 1987).

It explains why, in 1974, it was one of the few cars to actually "grow" in size. In addition, it discusses why Ford Motor Company President Donald Peterson ultimately asked the members in the design center if they would "Be proud to have this car in your own driveway?"

As a result, the Cougar received a new image in 1983 not quite reminiscent to it's earlier days, but a step much needed in the right direction.

Tell ya what, I'll take a close up of one page. Pick a number between 1 and 59. Choose carefully because some have only a picture.

Oooo a picture!

I have no idea who any of those guys are. But they apparently are happy to be on Team Cougar.

NAH, most of those guys are too old to interest a Cougar.
